In VIT Recuritement companies are splited in to 3 categories.

       Category 1: Super Dream(which offer salary package form 8.0 - 30 lakhs)(INR)

                       Companies: Directi, Amazon, Adobe, FrontCamera, Yatra etc(almost 20-25 super dream will recruit in VIT)(mostly they recruit for Junior Software Developer, Data analyst positions.

       Category 2: Dream(which offer salary package form 4-7 lakhs)(INR)

                       Companies: Deloitte, Wipro, Cts etc. and a lot of start-ups(positions they recruit for-Developer, Business Analyst, Security Advisory, Data analyst etc sometimes they won't provide any job descriptions they recruit based on their needs).

       Category 3:Regular(package 1.8-4 lakhs)(INR)

                       Companies: TCS, Infosys, and all service companies.

Average Salary figure for 2017 is 4 lakhs(INR) and highest salary 28 lakhs(INR) by Amazon.

VIT maintains alumni group the arrange meeting with past students who works in big tech firms around the globs and the alumni networks helps even after you get into the industry to refer you for better jobs and to take steps forward in your career ladder. 

HOSTEL:

Hostel Fees -South Indian veg -Rs 1,16,000.(INR)

                   South Indian Nonveg-Rs 1,26,000.(INR)

                   north Indian veg- Rs 1,26,000.(INR)

                   north Indian non-veg - Rs 1,36,000.(INR)

if you need a/c room add Rs 20000 to existing fee.

there are lots of pg and rent houses available to the college.

the food is good in VIT Chennai you have to spend an average of 200 to have food three times a day.

Academic Infracture:

the best part of VIT,

          three Academic blocks(which has best in class laboratories, smart classrooms.

          I would say VIT Chennai library is one of the best libraries in Chennai.

The minimum eligibility criteria for Mtech Software Engineering(5 yrs Integrated) course is 60% in higher secondary(12th) or junior college.

Admission Procedure:

Step 1: You have to fill-in the application form which you can get from any of VIT campus or you can Apply online here. http://vit.ac.in/admissions (Applications issuing starts in the month of April) and courier it to mentioned Adress in the application package.

Step 2: Based on your cutoff marks you will be shortlisted.if you are shortlisted you will receive a message with counseling date from VIT.

Step 3: Based on your cutoff you are ranked and counseling will be done in rank wise.

Cutoffs:

The minimum cutoff is 65% in (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths), but you must have a minimum of 75% so that you can think of getting Shortlisted.if have above 80% definitely you will get Shortlisted.

VIT provide wonderful academic maintenance System called FFCS(fully flexible credit system) using this you can choose your slot faculty and subjects.

there are two slots in VIT :

morning: 8 am to 1 pm.

evening: 2 pm to 7 pm.

every Subject has PBL project-based learning which carries 20% of overall subject marks.

           exam pattern:

                         internal 1 or cat 1: 15%

                         internal 2 or cat 1: 15%

                         PBL: 20%

                         Final Exam: 50%

you have to core 40% in the final exam and Overall 40% to pass the Subject.

Teaching:

in Vit most of the faculties are Ph.D. holders you will find good quality teachers, of course, there are few average faculties.

in VIT teaching methods and every assignment is Digital there is website Called Moodle where you do all your assignments digitally.

VIT Chennai Fees Structure for B.Tech is in 3 categories.

      Category 2: Rs 1,55,000(INR)

you can avail loans if needed it better to go with indian bank and kvb.

clubs and student societies:

club activity is mandatory in the curriculum.

          technical: android club, Linux club etc each department have one or two technical clubs.

          NSS,NCC,dramatics club,quiz club, event management club etc.
