Very little scope for internships. Getting permission from the college for taking up that internship is a Herculean task, ignoring the fact that a maximum of 5 people per class are allowed for internships. The companies which come for placements are progressively degrading. Half the students who got placed in the companies haven't received their offer letters (including myself). They promise one hundred placements but on average 30 to 35 percentage of the entire class get placed. For the first time in several years, an alumni meet happened recently. My entire 4 years of engineering had no alumni influence whatsoever.

It was pretty easy to get into the college. My cut off was a mere 178. If you are willing to shell out an extra 40,000 per year, then anyone can get into the college.

The routine was very monotonous. Classes start at 08:10. We get regular assignments for every subject thrice per semester. These assignments paly a major role is boosting the student's internal score. There are three exam cycles which happen every semester. A slip test for 20 marks, a unit test for 60 marks and a model exam for 100 marks. Other than this there is the Anna University semester examinations. My department had quality faculty for most subjects. The knowledge they shared with us was more than necessary. One can't expect individual attention from the professors. For the people who can't cope with the professors, fellow classmates explain the concepts. Unfortunately more than 40 members of the faculty have met the firing squad a few months back. This made most quality staff to forcing quit their jobs. After a lot of confusion, pandemonium and students' strikes nothing happened.

I paid INR 45,000 per year. No scholarship options. The fee isn't that expensive for people to take loans. Except for the Hostel fee, there are a lot of community fee waiver given to selected students. A few of my classmates did take educational loans from various banks. The banks just expect an average academic score without any backlogs for every semester.
