There are no hostels right now but construction is in full swing. There is ample number Of PGs around the college and the cost ranges from INR 5000-INR 20000 per month. The food in the canteen is always fresh and very tasty. The maximum cost you could be charged for is INR 30. The classrooms are different for different courses, for mine, there is a huge hall equipped with the basic necessities. Wi-Fi networks are available for free.
The eligibility at criteria at Maitreya college, Delhi University, New Delhi for my course was that the person should have completed her 12th grade. And it's a girls college. There were no entrance exams ( completely merit based entrance). This year the first cutoff for general candidates in my course was 93%.
The class schedules are busy. The classes start from 8 in the morning and it usually ends till 4:30 PM. The quality of teaching is superb with all teachers excelling in their fields. Overall, one could not moan over such a fantastic teaching staff.
The annual fee for the first year is INR 5000 and it reduces as we go further into subsequent years. There are various science scholarships available for higher studies. Looking at the fees annually no loans are actually needed
There are many societies and clubs comprising of western and traditional dance, music, debate, photography etc. There are several fests conducted throughout the year. Life in college is good overall
