Placements and Internships

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are about 20-25 hostels in KIIT. Hostels fees are as follows: 3 bedded Non-AC: Rs. 21000 per semester, 3 bedded AC: Rs. 40000 per semester, 2 bedded AC: Rs. 50000 per semester.
- The quality of food is average. Obviously not better than home but there is an assurance that food is better than many other engineering colleges. Students from North India will face a bit problem.
- Food charges Rs. 15,000 per semester.
- Quality of classroom, libraries, dinings halls is excellence.
- The speed of Wifi is also okay (not too bad).
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- Admission Procedure: KIIT conducts their own engineering exam which is known as KIITEE. There is no application fee for this entrance exam. One needs to clear this entrance exam for getting admission in KIIT.
- Eligibility Criteria: Candidate should have passed 10+2 with at least 60% marks. The main subjects of the candidate should be Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Moreover, the candidate should have passed 12th at max two years before appearing for KIITEE.
- Syllabus: KIITEE syllabus is very similar to 11th and 12th class CBSE syllabus. One needs to attempt 120 question (40 question of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics each) in 180 minutes time limit.
- Cutoff: KIIT will not disclose the cutoff marks but will start with the counseling procedure on the basis of rank you secured in KIITEE. You need to get a rank of about 4000.
Academics and Faculty
- Class Timings in SRM University are from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm with a break of 3 hours.
- Most of the teachers are IIT graduates. The teachers are almost okay and helpful.
Fees and Scholarships
- Course Fee in SRM University is Rs. 3 Lakhs per year and Hostel Fee is Rs. 42,000 per year (3-bedded NonAC) Rs. 80,000 per year (3 bedded AC) Rs. 1 lakhs per year (2 bedded AC) Rs. 1 lakhs 10 thousand (2 bedded AC with attached AC).
- Mess Charges is Rs. 30,000 per year.
- If a candidate secures a rank between 1-100 in KIITEE, he/she will get a scholarship of about Rs. 10,000 per month for the entire course.
- For rank 101-500 he/she will get a scholarship of Rs. 5,000 per month.
- Loans are needed as per the family income.
- Yes Bank loans are easily available.
