Samarth Verma's Review on BMS Institute of Technology and Management
Placements and Internships
- I have done an internship in HITACHI, HI-REL power electronics in Gandhinagar. I didn't get any stipend as I was not a part of any project. I was part of quality assurance department and then trading and sales.
- Key companies like Endurance, Direct-I, Dell, HP, cognizant, Wipro, etc. do come for campus recruitment. The salary figures are between INR 3&7LPA. Placement percentage is around 80-95% in every department except civil which will be having their first batch passing out this year in 2017.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- Total 3 blocks comprising boys hostel are there at BMSIMT. Hostel is superb.
- Living accommodation at these cheap rates are hard to find.
- Food is average as it has a hint of South Indian taste in whatever dish is prepared.
- Hostel fee is Rs 77000 approx.
- PG's around are available at around Rs 15000-16000 per month for a 3 BHK flat.
- Day-scholars can eat in the hostel using coupon system paying 35₹ per meal.
- An unlimited buffet is what you get in it.
- Wifi - Jionet 3mbps.
- Infrastructure - superb.
- Libraries - one of the biggest I have seen.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria and admission procedure in BMS Institute of Management and Technology, [BMSIMT] Bangalore is through CET, COMED-K and percentage marks in 12th Std.
- Entrance examinations are CET and COMED-K.
- The typical cutoffs for CET are 9,000 rank and below and cutoffs for COMED-K are 13,000 rank and below.
Academics and Faculty
- The daily routine is apt and it is from 8:30am - 4:30pm which includes labs, theory sessions.
- Assignment burden is negligible at BMSIMT.
- Teachers are super friendly and helpful in every each way.
- The quality of teaching is great.
- Overall experience has been good till date.
- Now that we see how well our college is upgrading in infrastructure, education, going for accreditation by NBA, etc.
Fees and Scholarships
- The course fee for BE degree at BMS Institute of Management and Technology, Bangalore for CET students is around INR 50,000 per annum and the course fee for COMED-K students is INR 1,55,000 per annum. Management fees depend on the branch and academic results of 12th / second year of PU.
- Scholarships are not yet given to any of the students that I am aware of.
Clubs and Associations
- Student societies and clubs are formed but it's just that they are active only once or twice during the year i.e also during the time of college fest or branch fests etc.
- Festivals are usually the branch and colligative fest's, republic day, independence day, Karnataka mahotsava, etc.
- On a whole, life in college is fun and if you have the correct company of friends you can make your lifetime mind blowing here at BMSIMT.
