Placements and Internships
- Few of the companies that hire from our campus are VMWare, Oracle, Commvault , TCS, Accenture, Envestnet etc. A large share of the recruiters are from the software industry and are providing a minimum of 3LPA.
- The companies on an average provide an offer of 4-5 LPA. The percentage of students who get placed in Computer Science and Engineering batch has been in the range of 75-85%. TKM College of Engineering has an extensive alumni network spread across the globe, with few of the strongest alumni bases in the US.
I was offered a job in Accenture, and the campus placement is still in progress.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are around 4 hostels for the college and they are of varying standards. The Life at the hostel is comfortable and the per month fee amounts to 3500-4000Rs. The availability of PGs nearby the college are less, and the ones available are very expensive. The food in the college is good quality and costs around 40Rs. per meal.
- The college has made available smart classrooms and good lab equipment. The Library has a large collection of books and the campus is WIFI enabled.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The entrance examination for my admission to BTech degree was Kerala Engineering, Agriculture, Medical (KEAM) Entrance examinations. The eligibility criteria was a minimum of 50% aggregate in the Higher Secondary Examinations. The admissions were based on the ranks obtained by the students in the entrance examinations. The students were given the provision to specify options for the stream of their choice. The ranks were calculated considering both the entrance examination scores and the scores in the subjects - Physics,Chemistry, and Mathematics in the higher secondary examinations.
- I secured a rank of 1732 in the entrance examination and an aggregate of 96% in the higher secondary examinations.
Academics and Faculty
- The class timing for the students is from 9AM to 4.15PM. The curriculum provides a holistic development for the students through project works, seminars, and assignments. The faculty is highly qualified professional who uses various teaching aids including the smart classrooms for their lectures.
- The overall experience in the college has been pleasant and the college has helped me in developing the qualities that I possess.
Fees and Scholarships
- The course fee for a semester is Rs.6200, which amounts to a total of Rs.12,400, the hostel accommodation, and other miscellaneous expenses are in addition to this. The college provides few of the scholarship schemes from the funds received from the alumni of the college, apart from the government scholarships.
- Most of the students belonging to the minority category are receiving scholarships and few others avail educational loans from SBT, HDFC etc.
Clubs and Associations
- There are various clubs and associations on the campus. Few of the major ones are Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Technical Cell, Film and Drama Club, Literary and Debate Club, NSS, IEEE, ISTE etc. The main festivals in the campus are technical fest, cultural fest and also there are film fests and sports fests.
- The college life, in general, has been a pleasant experience and an avenue for personal and professional growth.
