VNIT NAGPUR premier NITs of India. It had been ranked as the 11th best college in India in terms of academics and excellence. However, the academics are not as excellent as everyone expects them to be. The daily routine varies from year to year. We have a set of six subjects and there may be three or four pracicals per semester. Official class hours begins at 8:00am and end at 6:00pm in the evening. The students have theory classes of one hour from 8:00am to 1:00pm followed by a lunch of one hour and then practicals from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. These are the official timings. However, this certainly does not mean that they have to follow this timings everyday. The theory subjects have been assigned slots eg. A,B,C etc. There are 10 slots in total and a student can only take a maximum of 6 subjects in one semester. Thus he only has to attend classes for the time slots corresponding to the subjects he has that semester. The exams are also scheduled according to the time slots. There are two sessionals and one end-semester examinations. The exams pose an immense burden on the students as there is no hoidays between consecutive exams and so the students have to cover a large syllabus in a small duration of time. Allocation of project and assignment is completely upto the teacher. He or she may or may not give an assignment or project.
The quality of teaching is relatively good as each teacher has a large experience acquired over a large number of years. Hoowever, it has also been observed that there is no regularity in the teaching habits of the teachers. Often, the teachers become busy with their own personal work and do not engage a lecture. However, as the exams draw nearer and nearer, they start engaging extra lectures thereby wasting precious time of the students before exams.
The overall experience in the college is a memorable one for the students, indeed. There are a large number of extra-curricular activities, various festivals like the college technical festival, AXIS, the annual entrepreneurship summit, CONSORTIUM and the cultural festival, AAROHI. All the students in as well as outside the college can participate in these festivals. Similarly, events like the Institute Gathering, Departmental Gathering increase the feeling of unity within and among the depaments. They create memories that students cherish during and even after the college, thereby endearing them towards the college.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria to join Visvesaraya National Institute of Technology for my course is that for Indian students they have to give the IIT JEE MAIN and have to get good marks in that. If one wants a better branch in my college then they also have to score good marks in the exam. However, during my admission year Class 12 board marks were also considered but now only JEE mains exam is important. If one wants CSE in my college then he/she must score at least 200 in the JEE. However one can take any branch for that he/she must get minimum 100 marks in jee mains out of 360. For other country students, they have to give an international exam called DASA. This exam is a little bit easier than JEE mains. However if one wants better branch then he/she has to score good marks in that also.
Academics & Faculty : Academic schedule was good. Courses were more theory and less practical. Method of teaching was good. Professor accessibility was okay not so good.
