Placements and Internships

3.5

I have done a content writing internship as of now at SEOMantra with a stipend of ₹2000. There i was assigned to do creative content writing for their firm. Roles like marketing and sales are hired from my campus. The placement rate of the college has been 100% over the past few years now. The salary is given as per the course and as per the capability of the student. But to sum it up, it will be approximately ₹3 to 4 lakh per year.

These placements have solved the financial problems of the women and helped them learn a lot. There have been some notable alumni like Masaba Gupta, Sonakshi Sinha, Anita Dongre, Rani Mukherjee, etc. Some of the past Alumni have been teaching in the university. This Alumni network has motivated many other women to join our university.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

5

The infrastructure facilities of the college are top notch. It has all the basic necessities needed for the students. There are hostels inside the campus at a very short distance for the interstate students studying at our college. The fees are again not too high being ₹25,000 per year (mess excluded). Students are admitted to the hostel on a cutoff basis. The minimum marks needed to be admitted to the hostel is 75%.

The hostel has an environment of cleanliness and hygiene, which helps the students to feel at home. The hostel has strict in-timings that help the girls to maintain discipline and focus on their studies. And those who are denied admission in the hostel have options of PG but at a far distance as the college is in a commercial area. Their cost is high as compared to the hostels. Even the students face food issues. They either have to make their food or eat in the college canteen. The college canteen is clean and healthy with all the mouth-watering dishes.

The food is a good source for the girls to chit-chat and share their experiences at a very reasonable rate, as per meal costs around 80 to 100 rupees. So the students who cannot afford the canteen food have various munching options available outside the college. Now, if we see the college's infrastructure, it's like being an amiable yet educational environment. The college has it all: the science labs, libraries, Wi-Fi facilities, sports grounds, and many such things. Personally, college has given me experience that i cannot forget in my entire life, and that will help me come out with flying colors.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

SNDT Women's University has been serving women's education for more than 100 years now. It has its branches all over India and has many courses to offer such as B.A., B. Com., B-Tech, Engineering, Medical, and many more. The Eligibility criteria have been very simple as the university's main aim is to provide safe and thorough education to its students. Any woman who as secured 75% marks in her school can apply for admission in any course.

The admission can be taken online on the university's website and can be confirmed by physically visiting the college. Many entrance exams are offered, such as JEE, NEET, CAT, SAT, PHd, etc. I did not go through any entrance exams, but as per the reviews, these exams and its studies have helped many students to come out with flying colors. And any student passed with distinction and who has a keen interest in the course can apply.

Academics and Faculty

5

The class timings are particular as per the course. For example, the BCom has morning college timing and whereas the BA course has afternoon college. The projects given to the students are from a real setting that will help them to relate more and understand well. The exam pattern of the college is semester wise. It depends on the course. Like if there is a three-year course like BA or BCom, then there will be six semesters, and if its a four-year course like Medical or Engineering, then its eight semesters.

The entrance exams are conducted as per the government instructions. But the college is very strict with its assignments. It has to be completed and submitted on time. The college staff has a unique teaching method that is very helpful for the students to understand better. They are available at all times for their students. The quality and teaching method is such that all the students can grasp better and learn more. The teaching not only helps in academic studies but it shapes the overall personality of the student. Any person to study in this college will come out with some good experience for sure, And some good memories to cherish a lifetime.

Fees and Scholarships

4.5

As it is a women's university, the fee structure has been very nominal. My course (BA in English Literature) fees is Rs. 6000 per year at Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University Mumbai. Students who can't afford to pay the fees have some scholarship options available. The scholarships are either given by the government to those who come in Below Poverty Line or those who have scored outstanding marks in their entrance exams.

The average number of students to get a scholarship can be around 5- 7 for each course. Honestly, the fees are not much, so loans are not at all needed. And if in case any student couldn't afford the fees and they couldn't even get a scholarship, they can get a student's loan from any bank.

Clubs and Associations

5

There are different unions and associations formed by the students. These associations are either lead by the teachers or the students themselves. The unions are divided as per the departments. Every college department has its own group in which they conduct various activities and helps its students learn apart from just their academic studies. The college's common association is the Student Welfare Association, which was lead by the teacher and the senior students.

These associations manage all the problems and doubts of the students and help them get hold of the college. The biggest festival of the college and university is the Youth Fest which is conducted around February every year. This is a common festival for all the departments, and the students participate willingly and get the motivation to perform in the fields of their interest. The fields include dance, singing, instrument playing, literature, electronic media, modeling, and many others.

The students with good talent skills even go to national level competitions and get fame for the college all over the country and many times all over the world too. The sports field, including yoga, basketball, football, karate, and ariel sports, has helped students become fit and show the world that they are more than just studies. Even though it is an all women's college, no aspect is missing, and it gives a perfect college experience to its students. The students are free to be themselves and explore the talents hidden inside them. It gives an ideal opportunity to each of its students to shine bright.
