In our 4th year of B.Sc.degree we have to work with rural people in their crop field, this programme is called Rural Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE) it is a 6 month programme for each agriculture student. It is observed as internship for us. Some agriculture companies came to university for hiring ,but mainly the agriculture students have to fight competitive exams to get jobs such as SMS, REO , RHEO,AFO (in banks), NABARD, NET,ACF , ADO etc.
I don't know more about that. But some hostels are there but have very few vacancies there.
I have qualified Pre Agriculture Test for admission in B.Sc. course, then we have to qualify for the Common Entrance Test for admission at M.Sc. degree. In our field, the top most qualified students were able to choose genetics and plant breeding as subject for their masters degree. But this year due to corona the entry is merit based. I secured 10 th rank in all over C.G. The person who want to pursue M. Sc.ag has to complete B.Sc. degree in agriculture. Generally, the CET cutoffs were very high for OBC category.
I have not joined the college, I have just completed my counseling and took admission there. But overall classes, projects and assignments, thesis paper everything runs well.
Rs. 17240/- is the course fee per year at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur for M.Sc degree. We have only state scholarship, merit scholarship, and scholarship through ICAR NTA exam. More than 85% of students get a scholarship.
The student union works very well there for student welfare. Madai is celebrated as the main festival in the university all agriculture colleges from all over C.G. took participation on this. Overall life is good.
