What is the PRMO Olympiad?

The HBCSE PRMO exam was first initiated in 2012 to make the HBCSE final examination available for more students, encouraging participation and finding the most talented students in India.

Pre- Regional Mathematics Olympiad is the exam conducted as the first stage of the International Mathematics Olympiad. PRMO exam is conducted by the Mathematics Teachers' Association (MTA) with the Indian Association for Physics Teachers' help.

PRMO 2022 Exam Details

If the number of participants appearing in the HBCSE PRMO exam is less than 300 in any region, then the maximum number of students qualifying for RMO will be 50.

Below are the details of the PRMO exam details.

  • The merit certificate holder in INMO 2022 is not eligible to write PROMO/RMO. They can directly appear for INMO 2022.
  • Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands have been included in the Kerala and Tamilnadu region.
  • Sikkim has been stated as a separate region.

PRMO 2022 Eligibility Criteria

There are five stages under the IMO exam of HBCSE, and PRMO comes at the first stage. All the students have to fulfil a few eligibility criteria to sit for the PRMO examination.

A list of the eligibility criteria is given below in the table.

  • The student must be an Indian citizen born on or after August 1, 2000.
  • Students from classes 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 can write PRMO 2022.
  • An overseas citizen of India is eligible to write HBCSE 2022.

It is the participants' responsibility to determine whether they are clearing the eligibility criteria for each stage of the mathematical Olympiad or not.

PRMO 2022 Exam Pattern

The PRMO exam is three-hour-long with 30 questions. The answer to every question of the HBCSE PRMO exam is single or double-digit. Each answer has to be filled in the OMR sheet. The answer to the question has to write numerically as well as the appropriate bubble should be darkened.

PRMO 2022 Syllabus

The PRMO exam is the first stage for the student on the path to the International Mathematics Olympiad. Participants must focus on mathematics to score well in this exam. Topics related to calculus and statistics are not included in the PRMO exam. Some of the most important topics for the exams are number systems, algebra, and geometry. PRMO 2022 Admit Card

After successful PRMO registration, admit cards for the exam will be sent to all the registered centres. Participants can visit their registration centre and collect their PRMO admit cards. Certificates of the participants will also be sent to the respective registration centres.

The Mathematics Teachers Association releases the results for the HBCSE PRMO on their official website.

Students can follow the following procedure to check their HBCSE PRMO results online.

  • Visit the website of the Mathematics Teachers' Association.
  • Go to the Activities>Exams>PRMO
  • The results link for PRMO will be displayed on the page in the announcement column.
  • The page will be redirected to the results page with a list of students for each region.
  • Check for your roll number.

Note: Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya have to contact their respective school coordinators for PRMO results as their results will not be posted online.
