About: The SSC conducts exams for various posts in different Government Departments and Ministries. Every year thousands of vacancies are filled by the SSC in Government departments.
Authority: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the examination.
Purpose: The Commission will conduct the examination for recruitment to the posts of Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Investigation Agency (NIA) Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles. Also, Interested and Eligible candidates can check to apply for clerical cadre positions.
Level: SSC GD is a National-Level Exam.
Stages: SSC GD 2019 Exam is conducted in four stages.

Vacancies: There is a total of 54,953 vacancies for Constable (GD) Examination in CAPFs, Force wise as intimated by the Nodal Force CRPF and the PayScale is between Rs 21700- Rs 69100.

Registration: The application form was released on 17th August 2018 and the registration process ended on 30th September 2018.
Admit Card: Admit card will be released 15 days before the Computer Based Examination and for all other stages it will be notified on the official website.
Results: The commission will release stage wise Results for SSC GD. Final results will be announced after the medical test.

Candidates in the age group of 18 - 23 can apply for the exam.
There is age relaxation for reserved category candidates (SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen) in accordance with the Governments orders on the subject.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed Matriculation or X class from a Recognized Indian Board.

SSC GD exam will be conducted in four stages: Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and Medical Examination.
1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
The Computer-Based exam consists of 100 objective type questions carrying 100 marks and the total duration of the exam is one and a half hours i.e, 90 minutes.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The commission shortlists candidates for PET/ PST based on the performance in CBE (Computer Based Examination). Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) will be done at various centres finalized by the CAPFs.
3. Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates height, chest and weight will be measured after qualifying PET (race).
4. Medical Examination: This is the final round in the recruitment process and the candidates will be called for the Medical Examination only if they have qualified in PET/ PST and scored above the cut off marks in Written Examination.

The application fee for SSC GD is Rs 100/-
Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Ex-Servicemen are exempted from payment of application fee.
Mode of Payment: Application fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard or Debit card or Maestro Credit.

Registration: Candidates need to enter Aadhar Card number, Email-Id, Phone number, father's and mother's name, category, nationality, gender etc to complete the registration process.
Application Form: Candidates should log in with the registered email id to apply for SSC GD posts. Next step is to fill the exam centres, age, Domicile State/ UT and preference of CAPFs.
Documents Needed: Candidates should upload Photo/ Signature/ Biometric impression in the prescribed format.

Exam Centres: SSC GD exam is conducted across India and candidates can choose the exam centre based on their convenience.
Details: Exam centre details will be printed on the Admit Card. Candidates should note that the exam centre once allotted can't be changed.

Release date: Admit card will be released 15 days before the Computer Based Examination and for all other stages it will be notified on the official website.
Details: Admit Card will contain the details of the candidates like name, address, photo, signature etc. along with important instructions for the candidates.
Print out: Candidates must carry the hard copy of the Admit Card along with the original ID proof to the exam centre.
Mandatory: It is mandatory to carry admit card to the exam centre and candidates are not allowed to sit in the examination centre without admit card.
