What is RRB ALP and Technician Exam?

The Full-Form of RRB ALP is Railway Recruitment Board Assistant Loco Pilot. RRB is a Government body that oversees the recruitment process for the various posts in the Railways sector. The RRB ALP and Technician exam are for recruiting employees into the Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician post. There are 21 RRBs all across India and all of them recruit employees based on one exam i.e RRB ALP exam. The exam is available in more than 12 languages like English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Manipuri, Konkani, Urdu, Bengali. The examination is made available in so many languages in order to ease the process for aspiring candidates and to help them better in scoring by writing the exam in the language that they are comfortable with.

RRB ALP 2021 exam is conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). The RRB ALP exam will be conducted in two stages. These stages are:

RRB ALP 2021 Eligibility

The candidate's application might be rejected at any time during the process of admission if the candidate is found to be ineligible for the examination. Before appearing for any exam, candidates need to be well versed with eligibility criteria scenario such that any important events related with eligibility criteria should not be missed out at any circumstances. Educational Requirements

For the Loco Pilot, a candidate needs to qualify Matriculation or SSCL+ITI or Course completed as Apprentice or Diploma/Degree in Engineering to be able to sit for this exam.

For the post of Technician, a candidate needs to qualify Matriculation or SSCL+ITI or Course completed as Apprentice or 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics or Diploma in Engineering to be able to sit for this exam.

Age Requirements

To be eligible, a candidate has to be in between 18 to 28 years of age. Age Relaxation is applicable for the candidates of specific category as per the Governmental norms.

RRB ALP 2021 Exam Pattern

Having a brief knowledge about the examination pattern will help the candidates to have an idea about the exam paper. An RRB ALP aspirant will have to go through 3 stages of selection. RRB ALP 2021 Exam Pattern for all stages is given below.

RRB ALP 2021 Paper-I (CBT 1) Exam Pattern

The first CBT Exam of RRB ALP Exam will be having a total of 75 questions. Each correct answer a candidate gives will fetch 3 marks and each wrong answer will result in the deduction of 0.33 marks. Unattempted questions will have no negative marking.

RRB ALP 2021 Paper-II (CBT 2) Exam Pattern

This CBT will have 2 parts: Part-A and Part-B. The total number of questions in this Paper-II will be 175. Part-A will be allotted time of 90 minutes. To attempt Part-B, candidates will be allotted 60 minutes.

Exam Pattern for CBAT

CBAT (Computer-based Aptitude Test) is the 3rd stage of the selection process for RRB ALP. Only, the candidates who are applying for Assistant Loco Pilot shall appear for this. This test will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi. The candidates can appear for this test only when they qualified Part A & Part B of the CBT-II exam. There will be 5 test batteries and the candidates will have to score at least 42 marks in each test battery. There will be no negative marking for this exam.

There are different regional websites for RRB which will be releasing the Application Forms for RRB ALP across their regions. Candidates will have to fill the forms online. No offline RRB ALP 2021 Application Form will be provided.

How to apply for RRB ALP 2021 Exam?

Follow the steps given below to apply for RRB ALP 2021 Exam.

  • Step 1: First of all, you have to visit the respective RRB website from which you wish to apply.
  • Step 2: Upon landing on the page, you will need to click on the notification.
  • Step 3: After that, you will need to finish a One-time Registration. For it, you will need to fill your personal information like Father's Name, Mother's Name, Phone Number, Email ID etc. Then, they will receive an OTP which they need to validate. Post that, you will receive Username and Password which they need to preserve. 
  • Step 4: In this next step, they will need to fill the application form with their education details and biodata. The candidates will have to upload images of their photograph and signature.
  • Step 5: Then the candidates will need to pay the fee for their application form. Post this the candidates will be able to download their application form and keep it safe.

Specifications for Image Uploads

Candidates need to provide the signature and photo upload which has to be in between 15 KB to 40 KB in size. The dimensions of the photo upload should be  35mm x 45mm.

RRB ALP 2021 Exam Centres

Candidates will be given the opportunity to select the preferences for RRB ALP 2021 Exam Centres when they will be filling their application form. The system will allot one exam centre which will be the final exam centre for the candidate's exam. Once, an exam centre is allotted, it would not be changed under any circumstances. Hence, the candidates should fill the exam centres with utmost care.

RRB ALP 2021 Admit Card

Candidates will be able to download their Admit Card for RRB ALP Exam from the regional websites RRB. Under no circumstances, the RRB ALP 2021 Admit Card will be sent to the candidates by post. All such requests will be turned down.

How to download RRB ALP 2021 Admit Card?

Candidates need to follow the below-given steps to download their admit card:

  • Step 1: Firstly, candidates need to visit the regional website of RRB.
  • Step 2: Then, the candidates need to click on "Admit Card" link
  • Step 3: In this step, candidates need to fill their username and password and login to download their admit card. Finally, they will be able to download their admit card.

RRB ALP 2021 Results

The results for the RRB ALP will be released on the regional-wise RRB websites. The candidates just need to log in with their credentials. RRB ALP 2021 Results will be declared in the form of a list. The candidate's name and roll number will be displayed in the list of qualified candidates. For each round, the list of qualifying candidates will be generated.
