Introduction to RRB ALP and Technician Exam 2018

About: Full Form of RRB ALP is Railway Recruitment Board Assistant Loco Pilot. RRB is a Government body that oversees the recruitment process for the various posts in the railways' sector. The RRB ALP and Technician exam are for recruiting employees into the Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician post. There are 21 RRBs all across India and all of them recruit employees based on one exam i.e RRB ALP exam.

Authority: The RRB ALP exam is conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). 

Exam Pattern: The RRB ALP exam will be conducted in two stages. These stages are:

  • RRB ALP Prelims Exam - Computer-based test (CBT) of 100 marks with a duration of 90 minutes. Subjects include Arithmetic Ability, Reasoning, General Awareness and General Science.

  • RRB ALP Main Exam - CBT for 120 marks with a duration of 90 minutes. Subjects include Arithmetic Ability, Reasoning, General Awareness and General Science.

Expected Vacancy: The total vacancy for RRB ALP/Technician Exam 2018 is expected to be 19174 and the expected vacancy for the post of the technician is 9591. Reservation is provided for those candidates who are from SC/ST/OBC/PwD category and Ex-servicemen.

Railway Recruitment Board Assistant Loco Pilot (RRB ALP) and Technician Exam is conducted for the purpose of recruiting employees to the various posts available throughout the Indian Railways network.
