IBPS SO 2022-23 Eligibility

Candidates desiring to apply for the IBPS SO 2022-23 recruitment exam must ensure that they fulfil the following IBPS SO 2022-23 eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Institute of Personnel Banking Selection. The eligibility criteria in terms of nationality, age limit and educational qualification are given below.

Nationality/Citizenship

An applicant must be either of the following:

  • a citizen of India;
  • a subject of Nepal;
  • a subject of Bhutan;
  • a Tibetan refugee who shifted to India before January 1st, 1962 with intentions of settling in India permanently;
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.

Age Limit

  • Upper Age Limit: As on November 01, 2020, the candidate must not be more than 30 years of age.
  • Lower Age Limit: The candidate must not have been born before November 02, 1990. The applicant must be at least 20 years old as on November 01, 2020.

Educational Qualification

The minimum educational qualification required for being appointed as any of the above-mentioned officers will be different. This will depend on the particular officer post a candidate is applying for.

How to apply for IBPS SO 2022-23?

Candidates can follow the step-by-step process given below to fill the IBPS SO 2022-23 Form:

  • Stage I: Registration
    • Candidates need to visit the official website of IBPS, ibps.in. Navigate to ‘Click here for New Registration’. On clicking, the registration form for creating the User Profile will appear on the screen.
    • Enter general details such as name, date of birth and contact details- valid email ID and mobile number as asked in the form. Once done, click on the ‘Register’ button.
    • Candidates will be provided with a Provisional Registration Number and Password which will appear on the screen. The same credentials will also be sent on their registered email ID and phone number.
  • Stage II: Filling Details
    • Use your Registration Number and Password to login and proceed to fill the application form.
    • An applicant will be required to enter their personal and contact details as well as details about their academic qualification, work experience, a preferred choice for exam centre, etc.
    • Candidates will have to upload scanned images of their recent passport-sized photograph and signature as per the specifications appearing on the screen.
    • Verify all the details entered and click on ‘Final Submit’ to proceed to pay the application fees.
  • Stage III: Application Fee Payment
    • This is the last step of the Application Process.
    • Applicants can pay the fees using a Credit/Debit card, Net banking, Cash Card & Wallet and IMPS.
    • Save the receipt page for proof of payment.

IBPS SO 2022-23 Selection Process

The qualified candidates must appear for the selection process for the recruitment of IBPS SO 2022-23. They must produce all the required documents for verification during selection.

The selection process for IBPS SO includes three stages.

  • IBPS SO Prelims Exam
  • IBPS SO Mains Exam
  • Personal Interview

Candidates who qualified the IBPS SO Prelims examination will be eligible to appear for the IBPS SO Mains exam. If the candidate qualifies the IBPS Mains exam as well, then the exam authority will summon those candidates for the final round of selection- the Interview round. The final selection will be done based on the performance of the candidate in both the Mains & Interview round. 

IBPS SO 2022-23 Recruitment Process

Is there the concept of negative marking in IBPS SO?

Yes, the candidates will have to face negative marking in case they do not get the answer right during the Prelims and Main exam. One-fourth of the mark will be deducted for every wrong, which is 0.25. If the candidate chooses not to answer the question, in that case, the candidate will not face any negative marking.
