  • Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who want to join the course after their 10+2 graduation (or equivalent) have to undergo three stages; Foundation Programme, Executive Programme, and Professional Programme.   • Apart from being employed incorporate companies and organisations, a qualified CS also has the potential to practise independently, i.e. to be self-employed.
  • Companies with a Paid-up Share Capital of INR 2 CPA & above are compulsorily required to appoint a full-time CS, who is a member of ICSI.
  • All companies who want to list on the Stock Exchange are required to appoint a full-time CS.
  • A CS member of the ICSI is eligible to be appointed to superior posts and services under the Central Government.
  • The CS can also apply for admissions in PhD courses and can also be appointed as a Lecturer.

General Examination Pattern of CS

The general exam pattern for CS is given below:

  • There are four papers in the CS Foundation Programme; which is CS Executive Entrance Test or CSEET (wef. 01.04.2017), 
  • 8 papers in the CS Executive Programme which is divided into two Modules (wef. 01.03.2018), and the other 9 papers which are divided into 3 Modules in the CS Professional Programme.
  •  Candidates from a non-graduation background, who is only a 10+2 pass, must clear all three programmes. 
  • Candidates with a graduation degree in any discipline other than Fine Arts, are required to clear the Executive & Professional Programme to complete this course.
