Vivekananda College was started in 1950 as an intermediate College. It was initially known as Barisha College. The college was upgraded to a degree college in 1956 which was sponsored by the state government. It facilitates 19 subjects in the undergraduate course of science, arts and commerce under the University of Calcutta. It is also accredited with NAAC ‘A’ grade.
