Vidya Bhawan Mahila Mahavidyalaya Siwan is one of the Constituent Units Under Jaiprakash University , Chhapra and is located at the district headquarter , Siwan on Gopalganj Road. It was founded in 1977 by Late Dinesh Chandra Gupta (Rtd Principal V.M. HIGH SCHOOL, SIWAN) to facilate higher education to girl students who were checked to their home by their parents after doing their high schooling. The College was Converted into a Constituent Unit in 1981. After Conversion into a Constituent Unit of the University , its Progress become manifold . Dr. Md. Shahabuddin (The EX. M.P. Siwan) Extended his helping hand to provide it a spacious building using his MPLAD Fund. The building has been inaugurated in 2002.
The college offers Intermediate and UG programmes in Arts and Science streams. The college promises to be a leading college in siwan district of Bihar state in the field of women education. From last three decades, The college has shown fairly good results in spite of the fact that the students at the entry level are generally considered to hail from average academic background.
