Our college believes in the overall improvement of students. Thus, there is a lot of emphases given to extracurricular activities. The catch in this is that whatever club activities that we would be doing is done keeping in mind that it would directly or indirectly us the things that we have learned in class.
We have 6 clubs in total.
1- Marketing Club (Street Smart)
2- Finance Club (Fintelligent)
3- Euntreprenship Club (Magnate)
4- HR and CSR Club (Yukti)
5- Public Speaking Club (Vyasa)
6- Sports Club (Verve)
Apart from this, we have an annual college fest Vihaan.
The college life is something that you would enjoy the most the late night assignments, the group work etc. This would be something that you would miss even after leaving Vanguard
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
In this city of Banglore where we can find so many B-Schools. I choose Vanguard because of the students, as before joining I had interacted with some of the students and got to know their experiences. I would proudly say that it is one of the best decisions that I had taken till date.
So before going to the review, I would just tell a brief about the admission criteria; One should have a minimum of 50% in any of the following entrance tests like CAT, XAT, CMAT, NMAT KMAT.
The faculties, the individual attention, practical learning, using case studies, doing group work all of this helped me in improving myself and also my knowledge. One of the main attraction of Vanguard is it's 100% placement record.
So at last, I would say that, if one is looking for a decent tire-2 B-School, one should definitely consider it.
Placements & Internships :
We have companies coming for placement from various sectors like E-Commerce (Zivame), FMCG (Colgate, Calvin kare), Banking and FInance(HSBC, Cholamandalam), telecom (Airtel, Jio), other (CRISIL, Mu Sigma, IIM Jobs, Naukri, Quikr, Career launcher) etc.
If I would tell about the package the previous batch had the highest package of 9 lakhs and an average of 5.2 lakhs.
Fees & Scholarships :
I would tell that if we compare to other tire 2 B-Schools the fees of Vanguard is much less. For my batch, the course fee is 5.25 lakh and if one would perform decent enough they can get a placement of approx 5.2 to 6 lakh. Thus, giving 100% ROI.
Scholarship option is given to students who would score above given criteria.
If we need a loan they are very helpful in providing loans. The ease of getting a loan would depend on the bank that you would be approaching. If I would tell about my experience it took me 5 months to get the loan sanctioned on the other hand for some of my classmates it took 4-5 weeks.
Academics & Faculty :
The daily routine would be just as any other B-Schools it would be hectic, but one would feel ease after 3-4 months when we would get used to it. One of the main highlights of Vanguard is its teaching method and the faculties. They have the best in class faculties who are alumni of IIM, FMS, XLRI, MICA etc. These are people who have Industry experience thus because of that we can know what is happening in the industry. As a result, we would always be updated to industry standards.
The teaching method is done using practical techniques, where we sometimes have to go to relevant companies and talk to people over their and get the information. Apart from that most of the learning is through case studies and also group work, as a result, there is always a scope of mutual learning.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
Infrastructure is something that would be disappointed. If one would come by thinking that there would be a lush green campus with 2,3 building and gardens etc. We have one building and everything is inside that only. But I personally believe that I enjoyed a lot in this building. As it's the people that we are with that makes the atmosphere, not the infrastructure.
To those who are looking for the good campus; cheer up as we are moving to new campus by next year.
