The admission at zamorins guruvayurappan college is under a single window, where they value more on grade points achieved at 12th.
Extra points are given for scouts and guides, NCC, etc.
There are entrance exams for B.Com (Hons), B.Ped, etc., to check an individual's aptitude.
Fees & Scholarships :
The Zamorins Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikode Fee Structure. The course fee for BA is INR 4,700 per year, excluding hostel and canteen, and for B.Sc, it's INR 5,500 per year.
Scholarships include e grantz, meritorious scholarship, post-matric scholarship, Mahindra scholarship, etc.
The student will get benefits of upto INR 3,000 per year through the scholarships.
The procedure to avail each scholarship is different. For example, e grantz can be applied from the college directly if you have a bank account, whereas there is an interview process for the Mahindra scholarship.
Academics & Faculty :
The morning class starts at 9:00 am and ends at 4 pm.
The classes are taken by professors who are very friendly and empathetic. Classes include group discussions,debates etc. The student-oriented approach helps in better understanding and generates deep inside the subject.
The student-oriented classes are filled with activities, programs, games that make the overall experience of education joyful.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
UG and PG courses have two different blocks. The PG students also take classes.
Unfortunately, due to reconstruction, the hostel facility is not available for boys, but staying as a paying guest is easy and affordable.
The girls' hostel is inside the college compound. But as the college is in the heart of Calicut city, students can travel by train, bus, or bike easily from nearby districts.
The college cafeteria and food are clean, tidy, delicious, and, more importantly, pocket-friendly as you can get a tea for INR 8 and a meal at the rate of INR 30.
The quality of the classroom is excellent, and the vibrant nature-friendly infrastructure guarantees a peaceful and relaxing mind. The library, which is placed near an old banyan tree, makes it an ecosystem filled with natural energy and mind soothing, making reading part of your life.
The library books are well updated and are famous.
Wi-fi connectivity is also provided.
Clubs & Associations :
There are many clubs and student societies provided by the college.
Every department has independent clubs and associations which actively conduct programs every month and sometimes on the weekends (includes stage and off stage programs).
