St. Xavier's College Ranchi provides undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses. These are offered in over 40 programs in various fields like science, commerce, business, arts, etc. The course curriculum is designed thoughtfully. However, many of the curricula need to be updated. This causes a significant gap in the knowledge. Students have also been lamenting online on various portals about the lack of practical knowledge or incorporation of useful tools into the teaching.

In today's world, the faculties must impart valuable knowledge and theory. The exams at the college are easy to pass. Students, however, strictly have to maintain a 75% attendance. Geography and BBA are good courses. The faculty holds higher educational degrees and has expert knowledge. They are approachable and available outside class hours to help the students.

St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, provides accommodation facilities only for boys. The hostel is good and is equipped with basic amenities like a bed, chair, table, etc. It is well maintained with proper sanitation facilities. It also has mess facilities with hygienic and well-prepared food.

There are several paying guest options available outside the college. The girls can opt for those options. They provide all the necessary facilities at very affordable rates. The boy's hostel facilities can cost up to INR 4000 a month.

Underwhelming Placements

Even with good placement training, the placement rate and the salary bagged are below the industry standard. The median salary offered to students ranges from INR 1.6 LPA to 3.6 LPA. Apart from this, only about 70% of the students get placed. There is a placement cell that looks after the grooming and skill development of the students.

Over the years, St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, has been able to apprise a good number of top recruiters. Many students pursuing undergraduate degrees go directly for higher education after completing their courses. Hence, for many of them, placement is not the top priority.
