Saint Francis de sales College (SFSC), Aalo, established in the year 2007 is administered and managed by the MSFS Fathers also known as the Fransalians, who are called to be enlightened guides of their students. The MSFS Fathers have more 170 years of experience and expertise in imparting quality higher education all over the world.
S F S College is a minority Educational Institution with a secular outlook. It admits students from all walks of life, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, tribe and language to be part of this institute of Higher learning. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Central University, Itanagar. It was established with the motto “LIGHT TO ENLIGHTEN’. The MSFS Fathers are systematically, definitely and purposively committed to forming the present generation for the future through more than 100 quality Educational Institutions in India. SFS College, Aalo, meets fittingly and fully all the educational institutional requirements of the students of this hilly, enchanting and beautiful ‘land of the dawn lit mountains’.
The college is named after Saint Francis De Sales (SFS). The College believes that, true education is directed towards the formation of the human person in view of their ultimate goal in life and the good of the society.
Affiliation and Accreditation:
The National Service Scheme is a Voluntary Organization of College Students under the UnionMinistry of Human Resource Development to inculcate social consciousness and a sense of responsibility, discipline and dignity of labour among youth. The college unit of the NSS is vibrant with activities and takes up a number of adult education and health education programmes each year and summer camps under the guidance of the Project Officer.
A Women’s Forum Unit is active in the college. All the girls of college are members. They shall have periodic meeting with Principal and the coordinator of Forum. They also have an annual seminar.
The college encourages the formation of student clubs under the guidance of Teaching Staff. The clubs are Sports and Games, Literary and Cultural, Information clubs and Association for Social Action etc. A staff Member appointed by the principal will guide and monitor each of these.
In this academic year 2016-17, SFSC offers the regular BA Programme of Rajiv Gandhi University, with Honours in English, Sociology, History and Political Science, and geography as optional subject for II and III BA students. This academic year onwards RGU has introduced semester system for I BA in all its affiliated colleges.
SFS college offers add-on courses such as Diploma in Basic Computer Skills (DCS), Spoken English, Music Course and many other personality and carrier development courses and programmes. Every student who joins SFSC is eligible to apply for the same.
