SKP Technology Centre

SKP Technology Centre headed by Dr.Senthilkumar., Director (T&P), is started in the year 2005, to enable the students learn the latest technologies in their relevant disciplines both technical and non-technical apart from what they study in the university syllabus. The main objective of the Centre is to strengthen and enhance the capabilities of the students and faculty in the latest technological and non-technological developments and industrial requirement in the field of Engineering and research activities.

The Training for the students are carefully designed and executed to perfection through the Technology Centre. Students are fine-tuned in every stage of their study in the college. The First year students are given orientation programme and Communication Skills in English. When they move on to the second year they are given C, C++ and Data Structure, since the same is the requisite of any company the programme is made compulsory for all. The third years are given the specialized technical training programme coupled with the non-technical training – Soft skills and Aptitude. Further grilling is done on both technical and non-technical arena for the final year students so as to enable them get through the interviews.

Labs

Chemistry laboratory

Students are doing their practical by employing highly sophisticated various instruments such as spectrometer, traveling microscope, ultrasonic Interferometer and Laser . This laboratory also has a special darkroom to do the light experiments such as spectrum analysis using spectrometer and the particle size determination using the beam of laser light.

Physics laboratory

This laboratory plays a vital role to the engineering students to enhance their knowledge in physics and its application in the various engineering subjects. Physics laboratory has the provisions to do the experiments for 60 students at a time.

LIBRARY HIGHLIGHTS

• The library covers an area of 1440 sqm Spanning me first floor and second floor.

• The Library functions from 08.00 am to 08.00 pm on all working days

• The Library is a repository of 65,000 books

• The references section has more than 15,000 books in various disciplines

• The periodicals section has more than 2,000 volumes of scientific and technical periodicals and journals, including IEEE Journals (Printed Copy).

• The digital Library, which has 100 PCs, subscribes to more than 250 online journals.

• Discussion rooms are available for the faculty and students.

• The Media Resource centre has a number of Video and Audio cassettes, besides 1500 CDs.

Video Conferencing

With the modern technological upgradation and the use of laptop by the students, the students gain exposure to advanced level of teaching like video conferencing for delivering quality lectures to a large number of students.

20 MBps BSNL Leased line

The Internet provided by the Central Computing Center also makes manythings. The students are provided the facility to update their knowledge through the use of Internet. Our college has 20 MBPS BSNL leased line connected to more than 1000 terminals with WI-FI Technology throughout the campus. Student and faculty are free to access internet after the regular working hours. The access speed enables the staff and students to download and upload files at a faster rate.
