The Sir JJ School of Art was set up in 1857 as the Bombay School of Art & Industry, thanks to the vision and munificence of Sir Jamshetjee Jeejeebhoy. In 1952, the department of architecture became a department of the University of Mumbai, and the school became the Sir JJ College of Architecture [SJJCA]. Located on Dr. Dadabhai Naoroji Road, the campus of this Institute contains three majestic buildings for education purposes and a dwelling worthy of mention.

Its most rudimentary stones laid down in 1857, the institute reached its current status in 1952 with the Department of Architecture being made a part of the university of Mumbai. Sir J J College of Architecture [SJJCA], Mumbai offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Architecture. The college has years of rich history behind it, and has many programmes and projects that integrate its students into the architectural extravaganza that the city of Mumbai is. The college was ranked the Best Architectural College in India for 4 consecutive years by Outlook / Drshti survey.
SJJCA UG Admission 2025
The institute offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or the B.Arch at the undergraduate level. It is a 5 year course and admission to the college is through the Maharashtra CET for B.Arch.

SJJCA PG Admission 2025
The Master of Architecture or M.Arch is awarded after a course of 2 years. Candidates must appear for the CET entrance examination conducted by the Maharashtra CET cell in order to get admission in the college.

SJJCA Application 2025
Admission to the college for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses is by entrance examination. Interested candidates who fit the eligibility criteria can apply for the Maharashtra CET examination.
- Candidates can head to the official CET platform and register themselves for MH CET B/Arch/M.Arch
- Review the qualification and examination details,
- Fill in requisite details and upload necessary documents of proof.
- Complete the Fee Payment procedure.
- Print out Counselling Registration Form, report at facilitation centres.
- Complete the Choice Filling procedure and await publication of Merit Lists.
Admission is reserved for students who can provide the Maharashtra State Domicile Certificate. In addition to this, some seats are reserved for DEFENCE category students and J&K candidates under different quota.
