R P Sharma Institute of Technology (RPSIT), Patna was established in 1980 in the name of Patna Institute of Technology and the institute was later renamed as R P Sharma Institute of Technology. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Magadh University and recognized by Science & Technology Department, Government of Bihar.
The mission of the institute is to impart quality education through demanding academic programs, to bring technical education within the reach of common man and to inculcate sensitivity toward society and a respect for the environment. Students are awarded by B.Tech degree in concerned courses and 2 years full time MBA course has been started since 2008-2009 in this institute.
