Any student walking inside REVA University or passersby walking past it cannot help but notice the sheer grandiosity of it. After all, It is one of Karnataka's most sought-after Private educational institutions. There is more than one reason to justify this choice. Spacious classes, advanced facilities, and supportive career guidance make it an ideal ground for students. 

Recently, REVA University has been in the headlines for introducing Film Studies and Sports Science programs. It is unlikely that any private educational institutions will offer such courses. This restraint is mainly due to the uncertainty of the students opting for such programs. However, REVA University has taken this decision seriously. This, in turn, encourages the students to choose a career apart from the mainstream programs.

Selective Quality Education

A buzz among the students of REVA University is their friendly and supportive faculties. Ask any student, and they shall express their satisfaction with the quality of academic teaching. The faculties make sure that all queries are answered. 

Currently, there are 7 faculties in which various programs are offered; these are:

• Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
• Faculty of Engineering and Technology

REVA University currently offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs. However, specific concerns have been raised for the faculty of Engineering and Technology. Per the students’ feedback, the course curriculum is not structured effectively.

There are shortcomings in the curriculum which seem to affect the students. Because of this, there are knowledge gaps which are left unfilled. Students for this course have to hunt for an extra knowledge base beyond what the course offers. Because of this, it puts strain on the grasping ability of students since they are not aware of the practical solution to it. For CSE courses, students often complain about the lack of practical lessons. They are to execute the theoretical knowledge without a profound explanation.

As much as the senior faculties and overall faculty experience are good, REVA University recruits a few of the faculties who are recent graduates. Though there might not be a correlation between the time a faculty has graduated and their teaching potential, it is for the better that a faculty’s industry experience must be considered.

The industry experience only helps solidify the base of experiential learning. Many of the students’ curiosity lies in the area of practical applications. A faculty can impart diversified knowledge only when they have practical experience.

Many students have questioned a very peculiar system at the university. REVA University charges an exam fee over and above the course fees. The justification needs to sit better with the concerned student populace.

Campus facilities significantly contribute to the many parameters that made REVA University secure 8th rank in the list of top 100 private universities in India. The campus is spread over 45 acres of lush green area. When one steps inside the college blocks, they are immediately soaked in its vast spaciousness.

A unique system of the REVA University is the Gazebos. It is inspired by the ancient Gurukul system from the subcontinent to blend in the outdoor learning experience. 

REVA University has a full-length auditorium for seminars, conferences, and more. They also have a functioning guest house called ‘Atithi’ that accommodates parents, delegates, staff, and invitees. REVA University has an all-round sports facility system.

The campus facilities do not cease here. REVA University has an enormous food court. It provides multi-cuisine food. The cafeteria is clean and hygienic. REVA University provides safe and secure housing facilities for students. The hostel is spread across six residential buildings. The rooms are spacious and well-ventilated, with ample lighting. It has 24x7 security and medical services for the hostellers.

Placements at REVA University see a lot of footfall for some of the best recruiters in India. The recruiters offer a wide range of roles as per the courses available. Currently, REVA has over 300 recruiting partners.

Seeing the list, one would assume that the companies' salaries are top-notch. However, the scenario is quite grim. The packages offered to the graduating students are below the industry average. This becomes a concerning case as the fees paid by the students are exorbitant.

REVA University has a dedicated placement cell and conducts regular training sessions to prepare the final year students for the coming hiring seasons. The students are well-trained in soft skills and interview tactics.

A Healthy Diverse Campus

REVA University has been striving to keep the campus as diverse as possible. Currently, they have international students from over 24 countries. Male students constitute around 60%, while female students constitute 40%. The male-to-female ratio cannot be prescribed as ideal. However, it is undoubtedly commendable compared to other private universities in India. 

The university also ensures to admit students from various parts of the country. Hence, the rich culture inside the campus fosters a holistic learning experience.

REVA University primarily focuses on employing women faculties. They believe that women play an essential role in nation-building. At REVA, around 45% of the faculties are women. They are also employed in decision-making positions such as Director, controller of the examination, etc.

REVA University is located almost on the outskirts of the city. This poses a gruelling task to reach the campus daily. There is no frequent transport facility available that would cater to the needs of the students. Even though REVA itself provides transportation facilities, it is not enough for the students. 

The outskirt location also means the hostellers must make significant efforts to get their daily essentials. There is a need for more social places for relaxed engagements as well.

Even though the course fees are expensive and the company's compensation could be more satisfactory many times, students still feel that REVA University is worth it.
