It is only the P. B. College NCC platoon received Sahara Scholarship and best cadets award . In the year 2009, Jwgsar Mushahari, a cadet received an amount of Rs. 12,000.00 (twelve thousand) only as Sahara Scholarship. Again Manish Prashad , a cadets of NCC platoon of the college received Best Cadets Award in 2008. Similarly , the NCC platoon of the college got runners-up award in the parade competition organized by district administration.

 

Department Wise Scholarships:

(i) Department of Economics: The Department of Economics is elated to introduce a Scholarship for the students of Economics of P.B. College, Gauripur, in honour and memory of Late Prof. Gajanan Prasad Kanu whose valued service to the college and to the Economics Department in particular, would go beyond any count. Professor Kanu had joined this college as a founding teacher, headed the Department of Economics and led the college as Principal for than 8 years. A secularly enriched humanitarian, Kanu Sir passed away on 21st April’ 2012 leaving a legacy of committed professionalism and ethical living. The Scholarship : The scholarship will be named as ‘Prof. G. P. Kanu Memorial Scholarship.’.’The Scholarship is a one-time cash payment along with a Certificate of Proficiency intended solely to induce and encourage the students towards the study of Economics where carrier building scope is ever widening in this era of L.P.G.

1) The students carrying a Letter Mark in Economics in H.S. Final Examination will be awarded with a Cash Prize of Rs. 1000/(Rupees One Thousand) only.

2) The students carrying 55% to below 60% marks in the B.A. Final (3rd year) Examination in Economics Major will be awarded with a Cash Payment of Rs. 1500/ (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred) only.

3) The students securing First Class in Economics Major in the B.A. Final (3rd year) Examination will be awarded with a Cash payment of Rs. 2,000/ (Rupees Two thousand) only.

 

(ii) Department of English : The Department of English of the College has taken initiatives at various stages to encourage the students of the department to prepare themselves for excellent performances in the examination in the degree courses. The department felicitates the students obtaining 1st class in English Major in the BA final Examination with an amount of Rs 2,000/ (Rupees two thousand).  

 

(iii) Department of History : The Department of History, P. B. College, Gauripur announces the following Cash Awards to the students for their proficiency in the examination.

1) The students securing 1st class in History Major in the B.A Final Examination will be awarded a Cash Prize of Rs. 3000/ (Rupees three thousand)

2) The students who will secure 55% to 59% marks in History Major in the B.A. Final Examination will be awarded with an amount of Rs 2,000/- (Rupees two thousand)

3) The HOD of History Prof. N.M. Sarkar initiates to introduce ‘Nasiman Bibi Memorial Award ‘ to be given to the outstanding students securing the Highest Marks in Major in the B.A Final Examination with a Cash Prize of Rs 3,000/- (Rupees three thousand) in memory of his mother Late Nasiman Bibi.

 

(iv) Department of Mathematics : The Department of Mathematics, P. B. College, Gauripur introduces the following cash awards to the students of the Mathematics Department showing an outstanding results in the Final Examination.

1) The students securing highest marks (at least 85% marks) in mathematics / Commercial Arithmetic and Statistics in H.S. Final Examination will be given a cash amount of Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees one thousand) only.

2) The students carrying 80% marks in Business Mathematics in the B.Com. Final Examination will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1,000/-(Rupees one thousand) only.

 

(v) Department of Bengali : The Department of Bengali, P. B. College, Gauripur initiates to introduce the following incentives to the student who offers Major in Bengali will be given Text Books up to Second Semester in order to encourage the students for the subject. The students who secures 55% marks in Major Course will be awarded Rs. 2,000/- in cash.

 

(vi) Department of Assamese : The Department of Assamese, P.B. College, Gauripur will provide cash awards to the following outstanding students :

  1. The students securing First class in Assamese Major in the B.A. Final Examination will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 4,000/- (Rupees four thousand) only.
  2. Mrs Gita Sarkar, Associate Proffesor, Department of Assamese, P.B. College, Gauripur introduces “Satish Chandra Sarkar Memorial Award” to the Outstanding students securing the Highest Marks in Assamese (with 1st Division) in the Higher Secondary Examination in Memory of her father Late Satish Chandra Sarkar.

 

(vii) Department of Political Science : The Department of Political Science, P. B. College, Gauripur announces a cash prize carrying Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees three thousand) only and Rs. 2,000/- (Rupees two thousand) only to the Students securing First Class in B.A. Major in Political Science and highest marks in Political Science with First Division in the H.S. Final Examination respectively.  

 

(viii) Department of Philosophy : The Department of Philosophy, P. B. College, Gauripur finds pleasure to introduce a cash prize of Rs. 2,000/- (Rupees two thousand) only to the student who securing the highest marks in Philosophy Major (at least 60%) in B.A. Final Examination (Semester) for his/her proficiency.

 

(ix) Department of Commerce : The Department of Commerce, P. B. College, Gauripur introduces the following cash awards to the students of the Commerce Department showing an outstanding results in the Final Examination.

1) The students securing highest marks (at least 80% marks) in Banking & Accountancy, Business Studies and Banking in H.S. Final Examination will be given a cash amount of Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees one thousand) only.

2) The students carrying at least 60% marks in Major in Accountancy, Management and Finance in the B.Com. Final Examination and secured highest marks in the said subjects will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 2,000/- (Rupees two thousand) respectively

 

SELF FINANCING COURSES

  1. Institute of Distance and Open Learning,GU (IDOL) Study Centre The College has a Centre of Institute of Distance and Open Learning (GU) to facilitate the unpreviledged poor youths and housewives for pusuing higher education through our Institution at a lower cost. There are two Post Graduate Programmes :

(i) Post Graduate Diploma Course in Computer Application (PGDCA) 2 (two) Semester for 1 (one) year course.

(ii) Post Graduate Degree Course in Arts/Com. (M.A./M.Com.) 2 Years Course(Previous & Final) Subjects : English, Assamese, Bengali, Economics, Political Science, Philosophy, History & PGDC MC HRM.

2. IGNOU Centre : Pramathesh Barua College is a "Partner Institute" by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi to introduce some job oriented and vocational courses for providing access to higher education specially to those who are unprivileged and economically weak. With this end in view our college offers some Degree Diploma/Certificate courses through Open Distance Learning (ODL). Any one irrespective of age, gender and region can pursue higher education at a low cost by enrolling himself in the course. The Centre offers the following courses starting from July.
