Scholarship offered by Osmania University

The following scholarships are available to the deserving students pursuing postgraduate studies:

  • National Merit Scholarship
  • National Loan Scholarship

  • Prof. V.A. Shahane Scholarship (Dept. of English

 National Merit Scholarship (NMS)

A student who had earlier secured this particular scholarship during his/her study at the intermediate level (on the basis of her SSC marks) may apply for its renewal during the degree course (on the basis of the Intermediate marks).  

State Merit Scholarship

A student who has earlier secured this scholarship during her study at the intermediate level (on the basis of her SSC marks) may apply for its renewal during the degree course (on the basis of the Intermediate marks).  Prescribed forms submitted will be forwarded to respective authorities by the college.

Scheduled cast scholarship

S.C students (sub-Caste Mala / Madiga) Whose parent income does not exceed Rs. 50,980/- per annum are eligible to apply the award of this Scholarship up to the degree level.
For post – graduate studies, and for professional courses the income limit of the parents is Rs. 44,500/- per annum.

Economically poor persons Scholarship (EPP):
Students other than those belonging to SC/ LBC /ST/(OC category) whose parents income does not exceed Rs. 12,000 per annum are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Listed Backward Class Scholarship (LBC):
Applicants should belong to the LBC groups (A, B, & D) and the parental income should not exceed Rs. 38,200/- per Annum.

Deceased Government Servants Children:
Children of the deceased government servants are eligible to appear for this scholarship, together with details of their late parent employment, and a death certificate 12,000/- per Annum in com limit prescribed, for this scholarship.

Scholarships granted by the Central Government:

  • Non-Hindi speaking students
  • Physically handicapped (Forms supplied by the D P  )
  • National Talent (Forms supplied from Delhi)

Scholarships granted by the Soldier’s Board:

These are available to the children of Ex-servicemen.

Non-University Fee:
Rs. 10/- is collected from every student and Rs. 4/- from every P.G. Student as part of the Non-University fee at the beginning of every academic year.  This is used for the welfare activities of students.

Sumrana Mohiuddin Scholarship:
Tuition fee and Special fee for two years for B.Sc. second year student studying Genetics and for one year for B.Sc. third year student of MPCIS / MPEC.
