North Orissa University was established in the year 1998 by the Government of Odisha. The university was included in the UGC’s list of Indian universities under 2 (f) and 12 (B) with effect from 15.02.2000 and 21.06.2006 respectively. North Orissa University Directorate of Distance Education and Continuing Education was established with the objectives of providing quality education to all sections of students.
