Noorul Islam College of Arts & Science is an offspring of Noorul Islam Educational Trust. NICAS started in 2001 by the Noorul Islam Educational Trust, is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. With a meager strength of just 75 students, offering three courses namely Computer Science, Information Technology, and Computer Applications, the college progressed leaps and bounds by adding new courses and infra facilities. Within a very short period since its establishment in 2001, NICAS distinguished itself in many ways earning the reputation as a well-managed institution imparting excellent education in the field of Arts & Science.

NICAS admission

The College is situated in the serene picturesque slope of the Velimalai Hills in the Western Ghats. The National Assessment and Accreditation Committee (NAAC), Government of India has awarded NICAS with a 'B' Grade. The college has an effective student strength of about 1500 and offers 11 U.G. courses, 5 P.G. courses. There are 85 members of the teaching staff and 44 members of the administrative staff. Among the Teaching staff, there are 11 Ph.D. holders and 75 M.Phil degree holders.

NICAS UG admission

The college offers 11 UG courses currently. The college offers courses like B.A, B.Com. B.Sc, BCA, BBA with various streams in it. The college offers 7 streams in B.Sc B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Information Technology, B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. Microbiology, B.Sc. Visual Communication, B.Sc. Mathematics, B.Sc. Chemistry. The college has well-experienced teachers The college also has many facilities like Hostel, bus, sports, library.

NICAS UG eligibility

These UG courses are 3-year full-time courses. For B.Sc. Biotechnology, Microbiology candidate should have Passed in HSc with Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology or Maths. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The percentage of marks required is an aggregate of 50% in all subjects; SC, ST it is 45%. For computer-related courses, candidates should have chosen computer as one subject in HSc.

B.Com	candidates must have passed in H.Sc. Examinations with Commerce, Accountancy and Maths, Business Maths, Stat, Eco, Business, Principles of Economics.
BBA	candidates should have passed in H.Sc. Examinations with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the subjects.
BCA	candidates must have passed in H.Sc. with Computer Science as one of the subjects
B.Sc	candidates must have passed HSc with 50% mark with the related subject they choose

NICAS PG admission

The college also offers PG courses. It currently offers 3 PG courses MA, M.Sc, M.Com. There are three specializations in M.Sc they are Biotechnology, Computer Science, Mathematics. The specialization in MA is English. The specialization in M.Com is commerce

NICAS PG eligibility

These courses have a duration of 2 years. It is a full-time course. Candidates should have passed B.Sc, BA, B.Com degree with a 50% mark from a recognized university for M.Sc, MA, M.Com respectively.
