Entrance Exams & Admissions : Admission To NIT Srinagar is done through JEE Mains. The courses offered are 4 year B. Tech in Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, IT, Chemical and Metallurgy. For getting admission in Core branches, your AIR of JEE MAINS Should be below 33,000. I am in Mechanical and My AIR was 15272. 

Placements & Internships : Most of CS and IT Students get placed in Govt. as well as private sectors from National Institute of Technology, Srinagar. Average placement is about 6 lakh. It depends on Student's own Skills. Some get up to 15 lakh per annum.

Fees & Scholarships : Course fee at National Institute of Technology, Srinagar now depends on student's family income. Tuition fee per semester is as follows 1. Family income less than 1 lakh per annum ₹3300 only as tuition fee. 2. Family income less than 5 lakh and greater than 1 lakh, tuition fee per semis 22,000 3. If the Family income of student is more than 5 lakh per annum then the fee is 60000 per semester. Every year about 350 Students get Merit Cum means Scholarship. Some Category Scholarships are also available for SC, SC students and PWD's.

Academics & Faculty : Class work timing is from 9 am To 5 pm at National Institute of Technology, Srinagar. Sometimes From 9 am To 4 pm depends on Situation and what branch you have. On Saturday and Sunday, No Class work. The quality of Teaching varies from Teacher to Teacher.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Hostel facility is good at National Institute of Technology, Srinagar. Almost 90% Students get Hostel. Food quality is Somewhere between good and Average. For both Hostel and Mess, it costs ₹80 per day. (maximum of 15,000 per semester. ) Wifi is available, the library is very good, labs are average and Dining halls have good infrastructure.
