NIT Silchar is spread over 625 acres. The institute is acknowledged for its campus and residential facilities provided to students. Some of the highlighting features of the NIT Silchar campus are given below.
Library: NIT Silchar library provides one of the essential academic services in the institute. The library is well-equipped and stimulates the intellectual growth of students, instructors, research scholars, and others in the area. It has roughly 97,000 documents in print and non-print formats. The library serves as a valuable resource. It is a hybrid library with the latest technological capabilities.
Post Office: The college has a sub-post office within the campus. It has facilities like registration, money order, and speed post. Students, staff and people from the surrounding villages get the facilities and take advantage of the facilities of this post office.
Bank: NIT Silchar has a fully computerised full-fledged core-banking branch of the State Bank of India operating on the campus. The students and staff can avail the facilities of the branch.
Shopping Centre: A portion of the old building has general provision stores, PCOs, Fax Centres, DTP centres, bookshops, etc.
Hostel: NIT Silchar hostel has three boys and three girls hostel. Each hostel has its own mess management committee, which is in charge of catering to the needs of the boarders.
Workshop: The workshop of the Mechanical Engineering Department at NIT Silchar acts as a central workshop of the institute. It has a machine, welding, fitting, carpentry, smithy, pattern making and foundry shops. The workshop has centre lathes, turret lathe, milling machines etc. Common workshop classes are held in the workshop and workshop classes for higher semesters of the Mechanical Engineering branch.
Computer Lab: The NIT Silchar infrastructure has a computer lab that has more than 200 systems interconnected by LAN and high-speed internet for online tests. The internet-connected computer lab is devoted to training and placement. The college also provides a fully computerised office.
Auditorium: The college has an auditorium that offers pre-placement talks and seminars for students.
Health Centre: The institute has a health centre with a full-time senior medical officer and other competent medical officers to help students, employees, and families with medical issues. The centre also provides homoeopathy and dental therapy. Patients in need of intensive care are directed to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), roughly two kilometres from the campus. There is also a student counsellor that can help kids with their problems. An ambulance is also available for transporting patients to the Silchar Medical College Hospital for emergency treatment.
Guest House: The National Institute of Technology Silchar infrastructure has a guest house surrounded by verdant lawns and colourful horticulture, a lovely retreat for guests. Former President of India and Bharat Ratna recipient Late Shri APJ Abdul Kalam and Hon'ble Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu were distinguished guests who stayed at the guest house during their visit to the valley.

In total there are 8 boys hostel, 2 hostels for married M.Tech students and 3 hostels for girls. Post Graduate courses of M.Tech are available in technical and management courses. Mess food is good and eatable, can be criticised somedays. Per day cost of food is 80 rupees. For first-year students general classrooms with a capacity of 70 students are available. Internet facility is excellent in college with every room in hostel provided with LAN facility.

There are 14 hostels for both boys and girls. Quality of food is good and cost of the meal is INR 150 per day. Infrastructure is good.

There are 9 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel. The hostel fee is around INR 14,000 per semester.

There are about 10 hostels which are in good condition. Food quality is average and doesn't cost much. The infrastructure is good.
