Placements & Internships : Two internships are a must in this curriculum. While one is a one month SIP (summer Internship), the other is a four month GP ( graduation project) which is basically an entire semester (4th semester).  During GP, students have to work on projects given by the company that they have been hired by. This project has to be presented in front of a jury (combining both external as well as internal jury) at the end of the semester. Apart from the two internships, the college also hosts a bunch of outbound programs, industry visits & workshops. NIFT also has a centralized placement system meaning students from all NIFT campuses can sit for placements in their choice of campus. MFM students are mostly hired by retail biggies for the position of retail buyer, merchandiser, planner, visual merchandising et al.

Fees & Scholarships : Course fee per year at National Institute of Fashion Technology, [NIFT] Kolkata is 60,000 INR for 1st & 3rd semester & 54,000 INR for 2nd & 4th semester Scholarships for students are available from their respective domicile states. Students belonging to SC/ST quota are also given subsidy by the college, on fulfillment of certain criteria.

Academics & Faculty : The Core Teaching Team consists of 5 professors, headed by a Centre Co-ordinator (CC) which is shuffled every 3 years. 

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : NIFT, Kolkata provides avant-garde infrastructure and facilities that are upgraded at regular intervals with the latest technologies for students to reap maximum benefits. The campus is designed to meet the needs of creative education. Students have access to a IT labs & a huge  resource centre apart from having seminar halls various design studios and labs.

Clubs & Associations : The campus also has a gymnasium, volleyball, basketball and badminton courts, indoor stadium for indoor games and an on campus play ground, literary club, sports club among others. The college also oragnises seminars & buyers -sellers meet in association of NABARD and the mnistry of textiles, India.
