NID Bangalore Infrastructure Details

National Institute of Design [NID], Bangalore, offers modern amenities to students for holistic development. The campus is equipped with healthcare facilities, mess, hostel, guest house, curricular activities, and more. More details regarding the NID Bangalore infrastructure are given below.

Hostel

• NID Bangalore hostel offers residential facilities to boys and girls separately.
• The hostel in Paldi and Gandhinagar can accommodate around 450 and 200 students, respectively.
• The Bengaluru campus is not a residential one. Outstation students are given the priority for hostel accommodations. Students may choose to live outside on appropriate PG/hired accommodation alone or in groups, as appropriate. Each hostel has a warden who oversees the day-to-day operations.
• It is the students responsibility to look after their personal belongings, including academic work at the hostel.

Dining

• National Institute of Design Bangalore facility includes a student mess that runs on a contractual basis by the students mess committee.
• All hostel residents are required to pay a full subscription to the mess facilities. Students need to pay the mess charges for each semester in advance, along with semester fees, at the start of the semester.

Guest House

• The guest house facilities are available only for parents of students.
• It is available on a pay-as-you-go basis, subject to availability of accommodation.
• Students can book the guest house through the registrar by contacting the corporate & media relations office.

Healthcare

• At specific times, a doctor is available for consultation and advice at the campus dispensary.
• NID Bangalore does not provide hospitalisation facilities 
• The local guardian must be notified in an emergency, and only government hospitals can be used if a doctor recommends it. All fees associated with using such facilities must be borne directly by the students. Mediclaim is required for all students, and a student must present a copy of the original Mediclaim document at the time of registration.

Counselling

• Anxiety, depression, and concerns about relationships, eating disorders, alcohol, or drugs, can all affect people at some point. Although these issues may appear minor at first, they can grow in severity and interfere with daily life.
• The college consults with professional counsellors and arranges for them to meet with students. 
• Students must ensure to take the prior appointment to meet the counsellors.

Extra-Curricular Activities

• A socio-cultural organisation in the NID Bangalore encourages an academic environment and student-friendly services such as sports, social, special interest activities, and advice on any issue (if required).
• The campus also offers a gymnasium, indoor and outdoor games.
