MPC Autonomous College, Baripada was established in the year 1948 during the period of post-independent India. MPC Autonomous College was founded with the help of Sri Sarat Chandra Das as the Prime Minister and Maharaja Sri Pratap Chandra Bhanj Deo as the ruling chief of the State of Mayurbhanj. MPC Autonomous College is christened after the Maharaja for his great involvement in the construction of MPC College. It has been given the autonomy status by the University Grants Commission and has been graded with 'B' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

The MPC Autonomous College was established in the memory of Late Maharaja Purna Chandra Bhanja Deo to provide higher education to the people, not only of Orissa but also of its adjoining states. Maharaja Sri Pratap Chandra Bhanj Deo built the MPC College concerning his father's vision to provide education to people. MPC Autonomous College Baripada attains academic excellence through improvement in Quality of teaching and expediting global competencies among the students.

MPC College Eligibility Criteria:

MPC College Admission:

• Students shall be admitted to the first-year undergraduate degree course in Arts/ Commerce/ Science stream if he/she has passed the Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent.
• No admissions will be accepted at MPC Autonomous College after four weeks of re-opening of the college or six weeks after the results of the Higher Secondary Examination are announced.
• Admissions to the second and third year of the degree course at MPC Autonomous College shall be made within four weeks from the date of the reopening of the college after summer vacation.
