The Maharishi Dayanand University located in Rohtak was established in the year 1988 for imparting education through ‘correspondence’.The directorate provides education for a large segment of people who are underprivileged, living in remote and rural areas, adults, housewives, and working people. The Directorate has started 'Students Support Services Camps' to help distant learners by providing full term support and service to remove the difficulties.

September 15, 2022: Maharshi Dayanand University has released the result for UG and PG semester exams.

The University has a very effective and active Career Counseling and Placement Cell to assist recruitment for the students studying in various post graduate programs. The Career Counseling and Placement Cell has senior faculty who are very well experienced and help the students by training them regularly.

It also has five satellite libraries – IMSAR Library, UIET Library, Maths Library, Law Library, and IHTM Library.
The library has computer facilities and modern furniture.

and a seating capacity of 963.
