Eligibility Criteria for BA:

The institution offers a BA degree in the following streams:

  • Economics
  • English
  • Computer applications 

All the aspiring candidates should have passed [10+2] or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board or any other equivalent examination conducted by any State Board or Equivalent with a minimum 50% marks aggregate with English as a subject. All SC/ST candidates have a relaxation of 5% of marks in the minimum aggregate set as above.


The Application process for BA:

There is neither a specific entrance exam that you should take up nor any specific qualification to apply for the institution except for the ones mentioned in eligibility criteria. 

All the aspiring applicants willing to apply can either can download the E-Brochure from our website and you will be getting a call back from us with all the necessary details and important dates to assist you in landing the admission into the institution.  

The candidates will be asked about their basic personal information like Full name, Date of Birth, the qualifying mark percentile in the 10+2(Class 12th) examination in the respective state educational board or central board for secondary education or its equivalent counterparts.


Admission Process for BA:

Admission to H.S. 1st Year classes is open to candidates who have passed H.S.L.C. examination or any other equivalent examination recognised by A.H.S.E.C. Admission to SSDP 1st semester classes will open only to those who have passed H.S. examination of A.H.S.E.C. or C.B.S.C. or any other equivalent examination recognised by Dibrugarh University.
A copy of prospectus along with a prescribed form can be obtained from the office of the principal on payment. Forms and prospectus can also be obtained by post by sending a bank draft of requisite fee along with a self-addressed stamped envelope (28 X 12 cm size) to the principal of the college. Admission form will be also available on the college website.
A candidate seeking admission is required to submit her application on or before the last date as announced.
  • The application form duly filled should be accompanied by following documents:
  • Attested copy of Mark Sheet of the last qualifying examination
  • Attested copy of Admit Card
  • Attested copy of Caste Certificate, where necessary
  • Attested copy of affidavit if there is a break of studies detailing the activities of the candidates during the break period
  • Permanent Residential Certificate from competent authority

Admission to the college is strictly on merit basis. However, there is provision for reservation of seats for students belonging to Reserved Categories as per Govt. rules on submission of certificates from the competent authority. Ten seats are reserved in HS course as donor’s quota. A few seats may be allotted to special consideration to students with outstanding performances in the field of sports, culture, NSS, NCC. Seats have also been reserved for the disabled. A list of provisionally selected candidates will be prepared by the selection committee after thorough scrutiny of the forms and documents. A copy of the provisionally selected list will be displayed on the college notice board as well as uploaded to the website also. On the date of admission, the candidates will have to appear before the interview committee. They will have to produce all original documents before the committee. Soon after the interview, necessary payment will have to be made at the counter of State Bank of India, Dibrugarh Branch located at Thana Chariali.
Students having sporting talents of national level are exempted from admission fees. On the other hand, those who had exhibited their talent either at the state level or at district level are given 75 and 50 percent concession on admission fee respectively.
In case any seat remains vacant owing to cancellation or forfeiture of the seat of a selected candidate, the same, will be filled up from the candidates on the waiting list. However, seat for candidates from waiting list is not guaranteed.


Note:

  • Minimum eligibility for candidates desiring consideration under Reserved Categorise number under 2(c) will be determined by the admission committee.
  • In pursuance of Government Order issued by the authority concerned, a special concession for the wards of Kashmiri Migrants is provided in respect of academic session 2012-2013:-
  • Extension of date of admission for Kashmiri Migrants by 30 days.
  • 10% concession for eligibility in admission.
  • In each course, 5% seats will be reserved for Kashmiri Migrants.
  • Waiving of domicile requirement for Kashmiri Migrants.
Cancellation of Seats:
  • A candidate shall forfeit her seat if admission is not taken on the specific date.
  • A student shall also forfeit the seat if she fails to attend classes without valid ground and permission of the authority for consecutive 15 days from the commencement of the classes.
  • The name of the students shall also be struck off the rolls id she is admitted to an equivalent course under any other college/institution affiliated to Dibrugarh University during the academic session in which she is admitted to
