Krea University Overview

KREA University is a private University situated in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, India. The university was established in 2018 under the Andhra Pradesh Private Universities Act of 2018 and the institution specializes in the liberal arts and science discipline. KREA University was established initially by a group of donors, intellectuals, academicians, and industrialists led by the former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Mr. Raghuram Rajan, and the institution was officially inaugurated in November 2018. Initially, the campus was operated from the Institute for Financial Management and Research campus and then was moved to its original campus by 2020. The university is approved by UGC and it offers good hostel accommodations with all the relevant facilities. KREA University offers courses in science and liberal arts. The courses follow a unique interwoven learning process that includes academics as well as experiential learning. The guiding principles of the curriculum are - research-based learning, writing-intensive, immersive learning, ethics, historicity, data analytics, and interdisciplinary elements. KREA University’s core values are ethics, excellence, inclusivity, and accountability. The college offers a 3 year BA (Honours) and BSc (Honours) degrees with an option to do an additional fourth year of Advanced Studies. This is to equip the students with the confidence, purpose, and capacity for creative and critical thinking.

The programs are designed to offer both breadth and depth with a range of majors and electives. All majors and minors are housed in the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, Division of Literature and Arts, and Division of Sciences respectively. Students will complete required and elective courses towards the major in accordance with the guidelines provided in each individual major description. They will also be encouraged to choose cognate and/or elective courses in other disciplines. These additional courses may fulfill the requirements of a minor, or simply reflect the breadth of disciplinary knowledge available at KREA. A maximum of two courses may be double-counted. In addition, KREA students will complete a collaboratively taught Core course in their second year, and a capstone project/thesis in their third year.

KREA University Infrastructure

The college provides several facilities for its students building an ambient environment for education and for providing an exciting campus life. The infrastructures include a library, hostel, sports, cafeteria, smart classrooms, wellness committee, and many more. The library includes a rich collection of over 30,000 books on various aspects of Management, Social Sciences, Literature, and more. Also, the library boasts of over 105 Indian and International journals in print form and more than 4500 e-journals available through Online databases. The library also has a varied collection of Audio Visual materials in the form of CD-Roms and DVDs. It subscribes to six online databases that provide access to Industry/ Company statistical information. A fully automated system ensures efficient delivery of library services and circulation of books and other library material. OPAC: provides the facility of searching, browsing, and reserving physical materials available at the library. The sprawling 8000 sq ft student lounge and other recreational lounges are equipped with amenities to unwind. The Open Air Theatre is a cultural space and popular venue that allows the creative juices to flow while the Fitness Centre with the state-of-the-art gym, spread over 2000 sq ft and is equipped with the latest facilities. Physical activity is an integral part of life at KREA, and it reflects on the campus design too. Students have access to facilities like indoor badminton courts, basketball court, futsal, football court, cricket nets, open grounds for athletics, and indoor table tennis. The college places an emphasis on a balanced and wholesome diet to promote healthy eating. The dining hall serves a range of multi-regional and multi-cultural cuisine. Students also get a chance to try their hands at organic farming and cooking to form a more intimate relationship with food. KREA leverages state-of-the-art technology to ensure students have a seamless campus experience. The institution also utilizes upcoming virtual-reality and e-learning tools for students to keep up with digital learning trends.  Spaces in the academic block, seminar halls, science labs, maker’s labs, and media labs contribute to the enhanced learning experience. The nursing care is available round-the-clock on campus, and an expert medical professional visits the campus on a weekly basis. Regular sessions on mental well being are organized by the Office of Student Life. A salon facility, well-stocked convenience store, and ATM are located within the campus to cater to essentials.

• The candidates can get up to 100% scholarship for their entire duration of study at KREA with the College Board India Scholars Program.
• Candidates can apply to this program with their SAT scores.

College Board India Scholars Programme in partnership with KREA University

Students in India who score 1300 or above on the SAT will be recognized as Top Performers by the College Board at the end of April on an annual basis. Top Performers who demonstrate significant financial need, defined as family income less than INR 8,00,000 per annum, are eligible to receive a full-tuition scholarship for the entire duration of their program of study at KREA University. The family income will be verified by scholarship administration partner, Buddy4Study.

Discount on SAT test fee

College Board is also offering a 90% reduction on the SAT test fee and an opportunity to take the SAT at just ~Rs. 700 to students with family income less than INR 8,00000 per annum and 50% reduction on the SAT fee i.e. take the SAT at ~ Rs. 3600 to students with family income less than INR 15,00,000 per annum. PG Candidates

• Full Tuition Fee Waiver Scholarship: To help outstanding students overcome financial obstacles in their pursuit of quality education, IFMR GSB will offer full tuition fee waiver scholarships to three meritorious students. Applicants will be evaluated for the award of these scholarships on the basis of their academic record, scores on competitive exams, and performance on Admission criteria such as written tests and interviews.
• Merit Cum Means Scholarship: The eligibility criteria include the candidate should have a minimum CGPA of 3.50 at the end of the first year and an annual family income less than INR 10 Lakhs. Based on the recommendations of the Scholarship Committee, the top 10 students who meet the above eligibility criteria will be considered for the award of scholarship. The scholarship amount shall be up to INR 2 lakhs per student.
• T.Thomas Scholarships for Business Leaders: IFMR GSB has been selected by Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) as one of the five Business Schools in India for the award of T. Thomas Scholarship for Business Leaders to the second-year student of the outgoing batch. The scholarship amount shall be INR 1 Lakh.
• Merit Scholarships: Based on the CGPA at the end of the second year, merit scholarships are awarded to the meritorious students.First Rank: INR 2 Lakhs. Next three ranks: INR 1 Lakh each to three students. If more than one student has the same CGPA, the scholarship amount will be shared among those students equally.

KREA University Eligibility Criteria

The college has a detailed explanation of the eligibility for the UG, PG, and research programs for the candidate's reference who are interested to apply.

Course	Eligibility
UG	Applicants should either be in Grade XII or equivalent or should have passed Grade XII or equivalent in their own country of study. The applicant should be less than 21 years of age on Aug 1, 2020. In exceptional cases, we may consider applicants over the age of 21 years. With respect to International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge International A levels : Students in both IB Diploma and the IB Course are eligible provided they have secured a minimum of 24 credits and passed a minimum of three subjects at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL). Students with Cambridge International A levels need a minimum of three subjects to apply. International students are asked to provide scores of standardized tests such as SAT/ACT.
PG Programs	Graduates of full-time degree courses and candidates in the final year of the undergraduate degree with a minimum aggregate of 60% in 10th, 12th, and UG are eligible. Candidates from ODL (Open and Distance Learning) institutions are also eligible to apply as per the UGC policy and notification. The candidate should have a valid score in CAT/XAT/NMAT/CMAT/GMAT/GRE examination. Candidates should have been born between 01 Jan 1994 and 31 Dec 2001.
Research Programs	The candidate should have a Master's Degree or equivalent PG Diploma in any discipline, with 55 percent marks in the qualifying examinations. Or The candidate should have a Five-Year integrated Master’s degree/Dual degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline with 55 percent marks in the qualifying examinations. Or The candidate should have Professional Qualification like ACA/FAC/AICWAI/ACSI Qualifications of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India, and Institute of Company Secretaries of India The candidate shall produce valid scores of Standardized Tests (CAT, CMAT, GATE, GMAT, GRE, NET JRF, NMAT, XAT) Graduates of the full-time post-graduate degree course and candidates in the final year of the post-graduate degree are eligible to apply

KREA University Admission

The admission process varies very minutely for each program offered by the university and the candidates can follow the steps given below each program for a detailed understanding of how to apply and the selection process to the programs offered.

UG Programs

• The candidates are asked to register on the application portal by entering basic details, verifying their email id and mobile number.
• Applicants must fill all the sections of the online application form such as personal story, academic section, extra-curricular section, personal details, and any other additional information if required.
• It is to be noted that the applicants must fill all the 6 sections of the online application form without fail.
• Applicants should submit the completed form along with an application fee payment for proceeding with the evaluation & Admission process.

PG Program

• The candidates should begin by creating a login ID.
• After creating a login ID the candidate shall continue with filling in the application form.
• After filling up the application form the candidates will be directed to pay the application fee through debit card/credit card/internet banking.
• After payment of the application fee, the candidates should then upload all the required documents.
• The candidates then undergo two selection process, which are

• Personal Interview(PI)

Research Program

KREA University Hostel

KREA University’s residential facility houses students from various backgrounds and perspectives. This diversity makes the campus an interesting place for the students to spend their student years. Comfortable personal living spaces and common areas at the three gender-specific residential towers are designed to facilitate more interaction between students. Students are provided with air-conditioned rooms with an attached bath on a twin sharing basis. Rooms are furnished with all essential amenities including cot, mattress, bed sheets, pillows, wardrobe, bookshelf, and a study table with chair. Each room has a well-furnished tiled bathroom which is cleaned every day by an efficient housekeeping team. Every residential tower has a common lounge for students to hang-out. There are recreational lounges for boys and girls separately, equipped with a refrigerator and microwave oven, TV room, cloakroom and other utilities like laundry service. A robust round-the-clock security system, with CCTV surveillance, keeps the campus safe and secure.
