Karnataka State Law University, popularly known as KSLU, was established in 2009 under the Karnataka State Law University Act and is the largest affiliating law university in Asia. It has over 109 affiliated law colleges and 26,000+ students across Karnataka. Accredited with NAAC ‘A Grade’, KSLU is located in Navanagar, Hubballi, Karnataka and has been ranked 28th in the Law category as per the IIRF 2025 rankings. KSLU Admission 2026

Admission to Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) for the 2026 session is strictly merit-based, relying on candidates' marks in the qualifying examination like 10+2 for UG integrated courses or graduation for LLB and LLM. For all programs, the process is conducted online through the official KSLU website. Candidates must meet minimum marks: 45% for general (40% SC/ST in most, 42% OBC in BCom LLB) and upload documents for verification.

Candidates seeking admission to courses offered by Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) must follow the official admission procedure as outlined below:

1. Check Eligibility:
Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the minimum eligibility criteria as on June 1, 2026. For instance, for the BA LLB program, a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in 10+2 (40% for SC/ST candidates) is required. There is no upper age limit as per BCI norms, but applicants must verify course-specific eligibility and subject combinations before proceeding.

2. Fill the Application Form:
Eligible candidates need to visit the official KSLU website: kslu.karnataka.gov.in to complete the online registration process.

• Create an applicant account by providing basic details such as name, date of birth, and email ID.

• Fill in the academic and personal information accurately.

• Upload scanned copies of required documents, including marksheets, certificates, caste/income certificate (if applicable), and passport-size photograph.

• Pay the application fee online through debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.

• Download and print the filled-in application form for future reference.

3. Check the Merit List:
After the application window closes, KSLU releases a merit list based on the candidates’ marks in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent). The merit list is published on the official website.

• Candidates can log in using their registration credentials to check their selection status.

• Separate merit lists may be released for different categories and courses.

4. Counseling and Verification:
Shortlisted candidates must attend the counseling session conducted by KSLU or affiliated colleges. During this stage, candidates are required to:

• Verify original documents such as 10th and 12th marksheets, transfer certificate, caste/income certificate, and ID proof.

• Confirm their course and college preference.

• Pay the first-year admission fee (for example, ₹7,150 for the LLB program).
  Failure to attend counseling or submit documents on time may lead to cancellation of candidature.

5. Confirm Admission:
After successful document verification and fee payment, candidates must confirm their admission. The entire process, including final confirmation and reporting to the allotted college, should be completed by August or September 2026. Late reporting beyond the stipulated deadline may not be entertained.
