• Candidates secured with at least 55% marks in B.Sc Chemistry (main) degree examination with mathematics as a compulsory subsidiary subject are eligible to apply, or
• An equivalent examination of any other university are eligible to apply for this M.Sc chemistry course
• Eligible candidates have to appear for the entrance examination conducted by the school of chemical sciences
• Weightage of 50% is taken from qualifying degree examination and 50% weightage is  given to entrance examination
