JS Colleges were founded by the philanthropist and educational visionary Dr. S. A. Raja in 2001. Dr. S.A. Raja founded several professional colleges in the fields of engineering, medicine, science and humanities. JS Engineering College was the fourth engineering college and The Kevin Polytechnic College was the third polytechnic in the Rajas Group of Colleges. The institutions are managed by Joe’s Educational Medical and Charitable Trust under the Chairmanship of Dr (Mrs) Joe Suresh, M.B.B.S., M.D., the daughter of Dr. S.A. Raja and Mrs. Sophia Raja.
JS Group of colleges is now conducted with the guidance of Sethu Institute of Technology in continuous improvement in teaching, research and professional service. We promise to make vast difference in students lives and in the communities where they live.

The mission of JS Colleges is to extend the vision of Our Founder Chairman to provide accessible, affordable and adequate quality education to Indian youth, especially those who are located in small towns and villages. We do this by understanding the aspirations, capabilities, and potential of our student population and tailoring our approach to their needs continuously investing in human resources and technologies to serve our stakeholders effectively ever expanding our horizons by including R&D, industrial service and collaboration in our development plans

Location
JS Colleges are located on 4-lane National Highway 7 connecting Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari. The campus is just 15 minutes away from Tirunelveli New Bus stand between the villages of Ponnakudi and Muntradaippu. It is opposite to Sengulam Railway Station, one stop away from Tirunelveli Junction. It is 5 minutes away from the new Special Economic Zone for electronic industries built near Nanguneri. College vehicles are operated to and from Tirunelveli and Muntradaippu in the morning and evening to pick up and drop off students and staff.
Spread over 35 acres of greenery overlooking the Western Ghats and surrounded by paddy fields and coconut groves, the campus is scenic. A large reservoir located at the rear of the campus ensures that the campus gets year round water. High quality of the air is indicated by the presence of numerous bird species in the vicinity.
