Hostels: The campus of the Institute comprises three hostels. Common rooms are available in the IISER Kolkata hostels allowing for a wide range of extracurricular activities.

Library

• The IISER Kolkata library first opened its doors in 2006.
• It serves as a library, documentation, and information centre for fundamental science instruction and research.
• To assist their students in researching, teaching, and studying, they subscribed to various e-resources like online databases (both full-text and bibliographic), e-journals, and e-books.
• It has a collection of journals from a variety of publishers.
• There are almost 29,500 books in the collection, with 16,500 in print and 13,000 in electronic format.

Computing Resources

• IISER Kolkata has a computing section that provides mail, web, wiki, helpdesks, and custom-built academic ERP solutions.
• It is in charge of all campus wired and wireless LAN connections.
• They provide a dedicated network line with a speed of 100 Mbps throughout the campus.
• The National Knowledge Network (NKN) has created a virtual classroom that can accommodate thirty people and is connected to all of the country's main institutes via the NKN grid.
• They currently operate numerous modest computing clusters ranging from 200 to 600 Gigaflops.
• They intend to set up a 1 Teraflop high-performance cluster in the future.

Virtual Classrooms

• The Government of India's National Knowledge Commission has started a project to connect all of the country's higher education institutions with virtual classrooms.
• IISER Kolkata infrastructure has a virtual classroom facility that can transmit and receive interactive high-definition video classes from anywhere in the world.
