IIM Amritsar PhD Eligibility Criteria

IIM Amritsar PhD eligibility criteria include a Master of PGD of 3-year duration with 55% aggregate. Students who have completed CA or CS/ICWA with a B.Com degree and have scored an aggregate of 55% can also apply for admission. Similarly, students who have completed their B.Tech with a CGPA of 6.5 are eligible for application.

IIM Amritsar PhD Admission 

Admission to the PhD program at IIM Amritsar is based on the entrance exams. The further admission process to the PhD course at IIM Amritsar is followed by a personal interview, which includes a written ability test (WAT) and a research aptitude test (RAT). 

The final admission is decided based on a composite score. The score is calculated by considering the academic record, entrance test score, research interest, and PI performance (WAT+RAT). Selected candidates are further communicated by the admission cell for further admission process.

Entrance Exam

The eligible IIM Amritsar PhD entrance exams are GMAT/ GRE/ GATE/ UGC-JRF. The institute does not conduct its own entrance test for PhD admission.

IIM Amritsar PhD Fees 

IIM Amritsar PhD course is a 3-year doctoral program offered to students. This course is offered in various specializations too. However, there is no tuition fee for PhD courses. IIM Amritsar offers a stipend of INR 55,000 to all doctoral candidates.

Additionally, each student is eligible for a Contingency Grant of INR 30,000, which can be used to pay for books and computers, conduct field research, and attend academic conferences. The students are also eligible for a grant of INR 1.0 Lakhs for attending an international conference  during their entire tenure with the post-doctoral program, on a reimbursement basis, upon production of receipts.
