Placements & Internships : Currently, I haven't done any internships.  Since this year's batch was the first to pass out, we didn't have a grand placement season. But, as a first batch, we had something to cheer about. Key companies hiring from here were Amazon, Hyundai, L&T, HP,Via.com and Gaming Companies like MyAlly, GoLive and many others. By the way, did I  tell you that the average package had been around 8 lacs p.a. ?  That adds a cherry on the cake.Also, some students opted out, so that they can go for higher studies.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sricity is one of the 20 IIITs -a concept by the MHRD (GOI) to revive and blend the IT sector for the upcoming challenges in this sector. The important thing about these institutions is that they are based on PPP model, where the ratio of Centre: State: Private is 50:35:15. Recently, an IIIT Amendment Bill was passed through both the houses of Parliament, which entitles these institutions as 'Institutions of National Importance ' which initially was only the IITs and NITs. Our institutions were established in 2013. It was one of the five institutions to get the IIIT status. These Institutions are autonomous, but, all of them participate in JOSAA to admit students. Students who have a JEE Rank can compete for these seats. Unlike NITs, there are no separate State Reservations. Admissions are based on All India Ranks (AIRs). All Government reservations are applicable.    This year (2017) the intake for CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) was  200 and for ECE(Electronics and Communications Engineering), it was 70. Compared to last year, the seats for CSE has increased (up from 120 in 2016). This shows the popularity of the branch among JEE aspirants, which is only growing year after year. But, the ECE has just increased just by 5 seats. Still, it is greater than other IIITs.Usually , the CSE rankings open at around 4k and closes at around 23k despite the increase in the number of seats. For ECE, it ends at 27k. Regarding campus, it is under construction. Currently, a boys hostel and a girls hostel have been completed (Both having their own mess). Academic buildings Phase -1 construction is expected to be completed this year. The campus is expected to be completed by 2019. 

Fees & Scholarships : The course fee here is approximately INR 2,15,000 per annum, both for CSE and ECE. This is similar to IITs. However, banks like the SBI and The Oriental Bank are present here to give you educational loans. The institute also accepts scholarships either from the state you belong to or from the Centre. So, the needy ones can easily afford to study here. Even, the students are given free laptops (those who can't afford one), for which they have to pay after their placements. That's excitement, ha! Every year, several students take loans and scholarships to get some concession. I don't know the exact number. But, in my friend's circle, itself, some 4 - 5 have either taken a loan or scholarship. So, if compared with to government universities, the fees are the bit on a higher side. Nevertheless, students come here from all sort of financial backgrounds.

Academics & Faculty : In terms of academics, one will never find himself/herself bored. It is power-packed! The average daily routine starts at around 8 A.M. for most of the students and ends up at 5 - 6 P.M. Since IIIT Sricity follows the curriculum of IIIT Hyderabad, we expect that to be rigorous. And yes, just like IIIT Hyderabad (which is one of our Mentor Institute), we have some serious coding culture. People here, are mad about it. Whether you are CSE or ECE, it doesn't matter. You ought to learn at least 2-3 programming languages. Despite having such a busy routine, we find ways, for some extracurricular activities. And that too, in the form of Coding competitions on platforms like the Codechef, Hackerank, HackerEarth, etc. which are increasingly becoming popular. Thus with this, I think you can be familiar with our faculty's teaching methodology.  Thus, our institute needs some time, and it will leap long ahead of others. 

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Currently, there are two hostels,i.e,  one Boys Hostel and one Girls Hostel. Everyone is necessarily expected to stay on campus. The per year Hostel fees, both for Boys and Girls Hostel, is Rs.24,000. The mess is attached to both the hostels. And the food, is better, in terms of variety and quality, as compared to other institutions. The per day charge for the mess is around Rs.120. It is Rs.17000 for i=one Semester. The food is a mixture of North India and South India. So, each of them tastes each others' culture.  Every workspace and rest space are connected to WiFi Network. We don't have dedicated LAN for each room in our hostel. But we have a computer lab room in our hostel. This is for those who can't afford to buy a laptop. Academic building is in progress. Till then, IFMR provides us college space, which is very high class. Labs and libraries are fully equipped. Still, if you face the shortage , you can always complain to Academic Office and things will be sorted out. 

Clubs & Associations : We have all types of clubs. Some have started, while others are in the making. Of the things which have started, we have coding club, photography club, adventure club and sports club. These are regular and for the student's recreation. Other than this, we have Novato, which is our freshers' event and Abhisarga (our own cultural fest). These are breathtaking and up to mark for a naive institution like us.
