HCAS UG Admission 2024

Hindustan College of Arts and Sciences offers UG courses under different specializations. The minimum required eligibility criterion to apply for a course is the candidate should have passed 10+2 in relevant subjects from any recognized board. The selection of candidates in Diploma courses is based on Merit/ cut-off. Applications for admission to the university courses can be submitted through online mode. HCAS UG Admission - Eligibility, Fees, Admission Details

Candidates are shortlisted to UG courses on the basis of Merit/ Cut-off. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC categories are given a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate score of the qualifying exam. Reservation criteria for SC and ST candidates is 15% and 3% respectively while 30% of the seats are reserved for Backward Castes, 20% for most backward castes, 3.5% for backwards Muslims and 3% for Arunthathiyar. The intake of candidates in MBA is 180 seats, MA is 21 seats, MCA is 30 seats, MSW is 55 seats and M.T.H.M. is 60 seats. In addition to UG and PG courses, Hindustan College of Arts and Sciences also offers Masters in Philosophy and Doctorate in Philosophy in 8 specializations of Arts and Science. A Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks in relevant subjects is required for HCAS M.Phil and PhD admission. The selection is based on TANCET. Except for Social Work, M.Phil is available on a Part-time basis for all the specializations. PhD is available on a part-time basis only in Computer Science, Commerce, Management, Visual Communication, and Mathematics. Part-time programs in M.Phil/ PhD are available only for candidates with work experience in any institutions/ universities/organizations/ R&D centers/ laboratories within Tamil Nadu. Candidates qualified for GATE/ UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET/ SLET/ JRF or Research fellowship are eligible for direct admission to the programs. Candidates with an M.Phil degree are also exempted from CET.
