Facilities :-

To inspire, to guide & to facilitate the students of the college both in academic area & in other activities a number of facilities, financial assistance & prizes are allotted every year from different sources.

Seminars:

Seminars  are  organized  by  all  the  departments  on  various  topics  so  that  the participants get exposure to the outside world. Recently a two days national level seminar  was  organized  by  the  dept.  of  Bengali  to  celebrate  the  150th   birth anniversary   of   Swami   Vivekananda.   Eminent   personalities   from   different universities  & Ramkrishna  Mission  were  invited  to  deliver  lectures.  It  has enriched our institution & helped to learn a lot about this great personality.

Students Counselling Desk:

Student friendly teachers are always available to sort out specific academic & personal problems faced by students.

Students Health Home:

The college has arranged membership of student's health home for the students at the cost of Rs. 10 per head (annual) which provides them specialized treatment.

Seminar Hall:

The college has a well furnished seminar hall with 300 accomodations & LCD projector facility.

Canteen:

The college canteen serves substantial & nutritious meals at reasonable prices to both students & staff members.

Common Room:

Separate common rooms have been provided to girls & boys students & there are provisions for indoor games & television facility.

Cycle Shed:

There  is  a  cycle  shed  in  the  college  campus  where  students  may  keep  their conveyances.

Photo Copier:

There are four photo copiers or xerox machines inside the college campus for the benefit of the students, teachers & official staff.

Complaint Box:

There is a complaint box within the college premises where students can express their views & grievances, if any.

Grievance Redressal Cell:

A grievance redressal cell has been set up by the college to resolve the minor grievances of all concerned with the college. The major ones are resolved by the GB which has the statutory power to do so.

Alumni Association:

An alumni association has been formed by the college for better understanding & communication between the past & the present students. Important co-operation & contributions were made by ex-students for the development of the institution.

Drinking Water Supply:

For supplying purified drinking water a DWP (Mark II) tube well & six aqua guards have been installed. Last year further step was taken for purification of drinking water by the installation of "Sajal Dhara” water supply scheme & now it helps even the people of the locality.

Book Bank:

"National Service Scheme” (NSS) has set up a book bank for the economically poor & meritorious students. It has more than 1500 books which are distributed under certain rules.

Syllabus / Class Routine:

A copy of the teaching schedule & class routine is given to the student at the beginning of each academic session.

Academic Calendar / Teaching Plan :

At the beginning of each academic session teaching plan in distributed among students to give them a clear idea of the distribution of marks and syllabus covered by the respective teachers.

Railway Concession:

The students willing to avail of the concession in railway fares will have to apply to the principal or TIC of the college for issuance of certificates for the same. As a result they will get the benefit of concession in railway fare.

Financial Assistance:

Poor & meritorious students, having regular attendance & good performance in the periodical  &  annual  examinations  are  provided  with  financial  assistance  for students' welfare fund & students' aid fund of the college.

Generator:

Every member of the college is benefited by the high powered (42KV) generator facility in the college.

Women's Hostel:

The college has built up a women's hostel in the campus after setting financial aid from U.G.C. It offers safe accommodation for about 30 girl students at reasonable rate under the supervision of lady teachers. Mainly S.C. & girl students coming from distance areas can avail the opportunity of getting accommodation.

Library:

The college has extra-ordinary library facilities with a handsome number of text & reference  books.  It  contains  above  12000  books  on  different  subjects.  It  also subscribes ten different dailies. The library remains open from 11am to 5 pm during the working days. Students have to search their books on the computer. They can also read the books & journals in the reading room.

College Sports, Games & Gymnasium:

The college has a vast playground of its own Students enthusiastically participate in annual sports & games. Even at district, university & state level they have made good performance. The football team has awarded lots of prizes & won championship trophy in the inter-district athletic meet. Besides the college has different sports goods for indoor & outdoor game along with gymnasium. The Annual sports is held every year where the boys & girls take part.

Publications & Magazines:

The members of the magazine sub-committee are entrusted with the responsibility of publishing the college magazine "Ayan” every year. A good number of writings from the students as well as teachers are also collected. To commemorate the silver jubilee year the Bengali dept. has published an yearly magazine which was named "Balaka”.

Wall Magazine:

Students   of   various   departments   also   design   their   wall   magazines.   The departmental Wall Magazines help in the exposure of the talents of the students.Besides volunteers of NSS also take initiative in publishing their wall magazine at certain intervals.

Computer Lab:

There are two well equipped computer laboratories for commerce & geography dept. Practical  classes  are  held  regularly  under  the  guidance  of  departmental teachers. Along with the labs, all the departments have 25 computers, two highly sophisticated Xerox machines, LCD projector, LED TV & camera which were purchased with the financial assistance of UGC.

Rules to stop ragging:

As per the orders of the Supreme Court UGC has formed certain rules & code of conduct  to  stop  ragging.  In  case  of  any  kind  of  harassment  of  the  students particularly the freshers the college will take steps to punish the culprits.

Non-formal methods of learning:

Apart from taking classes regularly some non-formal methods are also adopted by the institution to enrich the students through seminars, cultural competitions,  debates etc. The successful students are given prizes for their performance in different fields.

Educational Tour:

Every  year  educational  tours  are  being  organized  especially  by  the  geography department. The tour is arranged in consultation with college authority.

Parent-Teacher Meeting:

Parent-teacher meetings are held in order to give a feedback of the overall academic progress of the student to his/ her guardian. These meetings also help the institution to receive constructive suggestions from the parents.

Teachers’ Council:

It is a forum for the teaching members of the college. It includes full time teachers,part time teachers, contractual & other teachers. It is concerned with the overall development of academic atmosphere. It organizes seminars, cultural programme, examination, educational tours & other issues related to the academic sphere.

Students’ union:

Students’ union consists of elected class representatives among the students. It is a common platform of the students belonging to different communities. Students’ union play active part in solving the problems, demands of any other issues of the students  in  co-operation  with the college  authority.  There  are  sub-committees  of Students’union under the guidance of teachers who take active part in academic as well as cultural & social activities including blood donation camps, games, cultural competitions, fresher’s welcome, college social, Teachers' day celebration etc.

N.S.S. (National Service Scheme):

N.S.S. was  introduced  in  1989  in  the  college  with  the  permission  of  Kalyani University. It successfully played its role in developing social awareness & sense of responsibilities among the students in the cultural sphere also. N.S.S. had important contribution in mobilizing the students. There are 4 units of NSS in the college of which one is exclusively for girls students. Students took active part in different programmessuch as birthday celebration of Swami Vivekananda, Kabi Guru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Republic day  celebration & so many programmes organized in the college.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC):

As per the recommendation of the NAAC Peer team the college has set up an Internal Quality Assurance Cell to ensure continuous improvement. The main aim of this cell is to implement the recommendations of the NAAC for further development of the institution. Further, it has to develop teaching – learning – evaluation process, promote research culture among the faculties by organizing seminars, workshops etc. to fulfill institutional commitments towards community. We are going to start the process for reaccreditation of the college.

Different Subcommittees:

In order  to  accomplish  smoothly  different  activities  related  to  administration, finance & examination, there are different subcommittees in the college such as Admission  committee,   Finance   committee,   Construction   committee,   Centre committee etc.
