Government Engineering College Thrissur (GEC Thrissur) The College was established in 1957 with undergraduate programs in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical engineering branches. The government college Main Building's foundation was laid down by the then Honorable Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Prof. S. Rajaraman, a Civil Engineer of international repute and author of several books in engineering, was the college's first Principal. The college is one of Kerala's top institutions about placement opportunities by consistently offering near 100% placement during recent years.
