There is also a provision of the seminar. Every student has to deliver a seminar. There is house exam in which student has to secure min. 45%marks to sit in final exam and attendance must be 85%.
The final exam is in the month of December and conducted by GNDU university. The quality of the teaching is up to mark. The teaching aids used are chalk, blackboard, and projector system.
I have good experience in this college. As I got opportunities like to deliver the seminar, present presentation or to conduct functions or doing anchoring. So overall experience in this college is very good.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
Hello, I m doing B. Ed. (Bachelor of education) from govt. college of education, Jalandhar, Punjab .
The procedure for taking admission is to qualify the entrance exam conducted at state level by any university.
After the exam, the college selection procedure in which student has to fill maximum 10 colleges of his/her choice.
Then on his/her choice, the college will be allotted.
This time the exam was conducted by GNDU university and I got 120 ranks all over Punjab. The cut off is 92 for general and 55 for SC/STs.
Placements & Internships :
No internship provided from Govt. college of education.
The internship takes place in the second year in any school for 3 months Salary for teaching job will vary .
In private school, salary may be Rs.5000-Rs.20000 whereas in govt. school it may be Rs.35000 onwards
Fees & Scholarships :
The fees of B.ed. for general category student is Rs.13000 Per year. There is no provision of scholarship. The government provides the scholarship to SC and BC students. The average no. Of student getting scholarship is around 20 No, there is no need of loans
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
There is no provision of hostel facility in govt. college of education, Jalandhar.
There is the provision of PGs outside the college and fee is around 10000rs. Per month.
There is no provision of the meal in college for students and staff. But there is a canteen in which provision of tea, samosa, and lays. and the price is normally same as the market.
The classroom, labs, and library are well maintained but there is no WI-Fi service for students. And also no dining hall.
Clubs & Associations :
Among the student societies of SCE, Jalandhar, there is NSS club, science club on the campus.
The main festival in campus is Punjabi Virsa celebration in which girls are instructed to come in traditional Punjabi suit and phulkari's.
And everything related to old Punjab is exhibit and a singers also invited. Life in college is very enjoyable and interesting. We come to know a lot about new things
