Every semester is followed by an examination- both theory and practicals.Quality and Method of Teaching- I am extremely happy with the quality of teaching. The professors are highly experienced and one of the best in the industry. Moreover, they pay attention to the student's needs and are easy to approach.Overall College Experience- The overall experience is great.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for Bachelors in Home Science course is as follows-- Must have passed the Std. XII examination conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with the following subjects: 1.  English2. Any 1 of the Modern Indian/Foreign language or Information Technology or Any 4 subjects carrying 100 marks each.OR1. English 2. Any 1 vocational subject carrying 200 marks 3. Any 3 subjects carrying 100 marks each. ORMust have passed the Std. XII examination with the Minimum Competency based vocational courses (MCVC) conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.ORMust have passed an examination of any other recognized Board or Body Recognized as equivalent.Note: The above-updated information is based on the information provided by the college's official website.I did not take any entrance examination for this course.In case you want to know more about the scope of the course or need guidance on which course to take up and the subsequent career path, feel free to approach one of the college professors. Placements & Internships : Placements- Dr. BMN College of Home Science has a dedicated Placements team. As for my personal experience, my classmates and I found a company for our internship. The department provided us with a letter for the same. I chose to specialize in Food Science and Nutrition in the 2nd year of graduation. Post my graduation, I applied for a Masters's degree. So I did not avail of the Placement facility. The college provides internship placements in several renowned companies and hospitals such as  Parle Products Pvt. Ltd. Goodday Foods Pvt. Ltd. Pepsico India Holding Pvt. Mahanand Dairy Goregoan CIPLA, Vikhroli Microchem Pvt. Ltd Britannia (Shangrilla) Ltd., Bhandup Raheja Hospital Godrej Hospital, Vikhroli(E) Hiranandani Hospital, Powai Hiranandani Hospital, Powai Fortis Hospital, Vashi Note: The above list is specific to the Food Science & Nutrition Specialization. Salary- To start with, you can expect to get an entry-level position in a wellness company or a food company with a salary package of approximately 2 Lakhs per annum.  Salary depends on your chosen area of specialization. In my case, I chose to go for a Masters's degree in order to get a better salary package and more in-depth domain knowledge. And most students go for a post-graduate program for better job prospects. Alumni- All alumni stay connected via a Facebook group and meet once annually.

Fees & Scholarships : The course fees at Dr BMN College of Home Science, [DBMNCHS] Mumbai are as follows: FYBSc- Rs.12,452/- SYBSc- Rs. 11,402/- TYBSc- Rs.12,327/ Freeship is available for needy students under the Student Welfare Scheme.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : The area where the college is located (Matunga) has girls' hostels available at nominal rates.The food in college is okay-ish. My suggestion is that it's okay to have food in college once in a while.The quality of classrooms, labs, and libraries is great. 

Clubs & Associations : Life in BMN is in general fun and a good learning experience. Clubs and Associations- The college offers plenty of opportunities to be part of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Sports Committee.College Fests- Intercollegiate Cultural Fest (Akanksha) includes Arts, Style, Literary, and Performing events.Apart from this, there internal college celebrations such as the Foundation Day and Freshers' Meet where you get to contribute/participate.
