“With few administrative issues, the newly established CT University has been able to find a place on the map of the top private universities in Punjab. The popularity of its parent group has helped to achieve a good reputation among the companies as well.”

Part of the reputed group of institutions, CT University, is one of the only universities in its location. As it was established only in 2017, the university is still in the process of evolving in terms of infrastructure and facilities. Therefore, CT University has yet to get the same recognition as its parent group. Located in the rural area of Ludhiana, the university offers a plethora of courses in various disciplines, which include Engineering, Management, Law and so on. 

However, a few students have raised allegations saying that the terms and conditions set by the university in the initial stages of the admission process are not followed. For instance, the students were told that more than half of the Engineering courses were based on practicals, but most of the curriculum is now focused on theory due to its lack of the required equipment/machines in the workshops. Nonetheless, CT University is expected to evolve in the coming years.

Plenty of Programs to Choose

CT University offers numerous undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in myriad fields. The specializations offered in different disciplines are unique, and only a few universities have these courses in the state. This factor makes the university enticing to the local students. The different departments available in the university are as follows.

The most attractive courses available at the university are the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) courses. Apart from these, the university also offers various specializations in the undergraduate, diploma, postgraduate and doctoral levels. 

B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, BCA, and MCA programs with the following two IBM specializations are available at the university. Students have the option of joining these programs through the Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET) as well.

Under the School of Management Studies, the university offers different undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. These programs include Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and Master of Business Administration (MBA).

The Humanities and Physical Education programs available at CT University include Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), and Master of Science courses among others.

Reasonable Course Fees

The course fees at CT University are less expensive than the other universities present in the country. The average fees for B.Tech and MBA courses are around INR 6,41,600 and UBR 4,73,750, respectively. For the other courses, the tuition fees range from INR 1,52,000 to INR 4,80,000.

To enable students from all walks of life to acquire a good education, the university also offers numerous scholarship programs based on merit and other factors. The scholarships provided by the central and state governments are also available at the university.

Developing Faculty & Pedagogy

As mentioned earlier, the university was established only recently. Still, it has a good set of faculty members who are well-educated and experienced in their domain, especially in Engineering programs. The curriculum is updated regularly, which helps the graduates be in touch with the current systems and applications. 

The university provides interdisciplinary subjects, which not only makes the students more advanced but also enhances their critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity skills. The teachers are easily approachable and promote an interactive learning environment. All students are encouraged to participate in workshops, seminars and other educational activities to understand the concepts better.

Yet, per students' insights on various educational portals, they have raised concerns about there being a lack of practical learning due to the lesser number of equipment and facilities, which are taken into consideration by the university. The CT group of institutions has been in education for more than 25 years, so they can be trusted with providing quality education.

Brand New Infrastructure

CT University is known for its state-of-the-art infrastructure with recently developed amenities. Similar to the other private universities, it has all the necessary facilities to ensure a holistic campus experience for its students. Situated on 36 acres of land, the university comprises air-conditioned hostels, well-organised classrooms, and a resourceful central library. The university also gives importance to ensuring the safety and security of its students. The different aspects included in the university infrastructure are described below.

With lavish seating areas, the central library has a huge collection of various books and informative materials to help students learn and nurture their research skills. The library also has a massive collection of e-resources to provide international content. The central library of the university has over 15 lakh books, magazines, journals, and other files accessible to all students.

The classrooms are equipped with digital boards and audio-visual systems to ensure the students have an interactive learning environment. This helps the teachers to share new and updated information with the students.

The university has impressive laboratories with adequate facilities to enhance the practical learning of the students. Labs are available for different subjects with the required amenities to perform experiments and conduct research activities. The labs are regularly organised with staff available to assist the students. The note-worthy labs included in the campus infrastructure are as follows.

Another notable feature of the university is its sports facilities, with expert guidance available without additional fees. The sports facilities include a Badminton court, Football ground, Basketball court, and swimming pool, among others. The university is also adding new features every year to help its students incorporate physical activities into their college life.

Comfortable Hostels

Students from outside the city are provided with residential facilities within the campus. The hostels are available for boys and girls. These hostels include air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms with two or more beds. The hostels are well-furnished, with separate beds, tables and cupboards available for each student. The students are served four meals a day in the dining halls, which are cooked in a clean and hygienic mess. The hostel admission is done along with the counselling process at the university.

In addition to the on-campus hostel facilities, students also have the option to stay as paying guests available around the university for rents starting from INR 3000, available for up to INR 18,000, based on the luxury of the facilities.

Cohesive Campus Experience

CT University believes in providing a wholesome college experience to its students. For that reason, the university gives equal importance to academics as well as co-curricular activities. Several events are conducted in the university throughout the year, where students are given the opportunity to showcase their talents and skills in different fields.

The university also organises talks and seminars by industry experts to give an insight into the real-world applications of the concepts they study.

The university is popular for the educational and industrial tours that help students get hands-on experience. It also encourages the students to participate in inter-university conclaves, dance competitions and sports tournaments. Students are taken for fun activities, like treks, and to locations of historical importance.

Although the university is liberal, certain rules and regulations are strictly enforced on the students. The teachers and other staff members of the university are also expected to abide by the strict rules of the university. This ensures an organised campus with little to no problems occurring. 

Dress Code

The students must abide by the dress code imposed on them based on their departments. Some courses have uniforms, and others must wear appropriate attire. Students are restricted from wearing plastic/rubber slippers, and they must wear aprons/coats in the labs. Students can avail of dress code relaxation with permission from the authorities for religious purposes.

Diversity in Campus

The university has a friendly environment with students from all genders and backgrounds. The student ratio in terms of gender is proportionate. It has a diverse campus with a combination of multiple cultures. The cultural diversity on the campus provides exposure to the students to learn more about their country and enhance their general knowledge.

Moderate Placement Rates

CT University has managed to offer great placement opportunities to many of its students. Most of the graduates are now part of reputed companies and brands with decent salary packages. The university has over 700 recruiters who actively participate in the placement process, through which more than 4800 students have received job offers. In spite of that, the placement rates are said to be between 70 to 80%. 

In the past year, the highest domestic salary package offered by the companies was INR 44 LPA. The highest international salary package offered to CT University graduates was INR 51 LPA.

Overall Impression of CT University

It can be concluded that CT University has managed to gain popularity in the state of Punjab within a short period. As it is located in an area where not many universities are present, the students from the rural area have highly benefited from the inception of the university. 

The variety of courses offered here gives an opportunity to aspiring professionals to pursue their education at a reputed university, which is part of a group of institutions with a great legacy. The university is still a work in progress with room for improvement in different aspects, like its infrastructure and quality of faculties.
