Cotton college became a university few years ago. So, they have almost all facilities but I've never heard about it that companies hire students from here but the university provides a good quality education.
I haven't gone for an internship till date. Not getting any stipend. We have a so-called placement cell in our college, but it's totally useless. No such companies came to our college for hiring students. Since there is no working placement cell, so I heard of none who get placed with high or average salary figures.Alumni meets are organized sometimes, but we don't have any communication or say network with them.
I am still studying there and hoping to grab the best. And the best part? Notable figures come for seminars and lecture every month. Best to explore one's talent.
There is no any authority and system of placement here. Alumni are organised by their own department.
Many IT companies like Wipro etc come for placements. The average salary is INR 2,40,000 per annum.
I haven’t done any internship yet. I don’t know much about the companies taking part in the recruitment drive.
Not yet did any internship. Companies like Amtron, Tata etc hired from our college with an average salary of INR 25000 per month and highest of INR 40000 per month. 15% of the batch gets placement. Alumni network is good.
Student Counseling & Placement Cell :-
Cotton College has a Placement Cell, run by a group of senior teachers of the college. A large number of companies conduct campus recruitment drives in the college. The companies that have visited the college campus include State Bank of India, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Tata Consultancy Services, IBM-Daksh Federal Bank, South Indian Bank, HSBC Bank, Wipro Technologies, Infosys, HCL, Reliance Retail Ltd., SBI Life Insurance and Vedanta Aluminium. A good number of students are recruited each year by these companies.
As per the guidelines stated under the XIth plan of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the colleges and universities are required to organize career guidance and counseling programmes for the benefit of the students. Accordingly, Career & Counseling Cell was established sometime during August-September, 2010 in Cotton College from the grant sanctioned vide letter no. F.05-66/2007/(NERO)/6647 dated 21st January, 2010. Before the establishment of the cell, many departments of Cotton College organized counseling programmes on a regular basis. These programmes were conducted by invited external resource persons as well as by in-house faculty.
The Career & Counseling Cell is equipped with all the aids or gadgets necessary for conducting a counseling programme or any other presentation. These include i) laptop, ii) LCD projector, iii) white screen, iv) PA system, v) desktop computer and vi) photocopier.
