Admission Eligibility Criteria:

Master of Arts [M.A.] (Journalism & Mass Communication) & M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts:

 The candidate for admission must possess Post-Graduation in J&MC from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).  

Ph.D. in Journalism & Mass Communication:

Eligibility:

The candidate for admission must possess Post-Graduation/M.Phil. In J&MC from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).   

 M.Phil. (Anthropology):

 The candidate for admission must possess Post-Graduation in Anthropology from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).   

Ph.D. in Anthropology:

Eligibility:

The candidate for admission must possess Post-Graduation/M.Phil. In Anthropology from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).   

 M.Phil. (Sociology):

 The candidate for admission must possess Post-Graduation in Sociology from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).    

 Ph.D. (Sociology):

 The candidate for admission must possess Post-Graduation/M.Phil. In Sociology from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates). 

 M.Phil. (Odia):

 The candidate for admission must possess Post-Graduation in Odia from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).   

Ph.D. in Odia :

Eligibility:

The candidate for admission must possess Post-Graduation in Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Forestry, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts:

 The candidates for admission must apply for admission by filling and submitting completed applications before the announced dates.

  • Upon completion of the online admission application process, candidates are required to send hard copy of the admission application form along with the university copy of challan through speed post at the following address:

The candidate for admission must send the photo affixed and duly signed admission application and copies of following documents:

  • Transfer Certificate.   
  • Graduation marks  certificate.
  • HSC marks  certificate.
  • PG marks certificate.
  • Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required).   
  • Certificates for Special categories, if required.     
  • Nativity Certificate if required.   
  • Date of Birth Certificate (SSC / ICSE / CBSE).
  • Medical certificate.
  • Original Cash receipt of the admission application fee, in the case of purchased admission application form.
  • Challan of required admission application fee payable to SBI Branch as the cost of application form, in the case of downloaded form.
  • Qualification proof for above mentioned National level entrance tests, in the case of candidates exempted from Ph.D. entrance test.

Admission Process for:

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts:

  • The admission to the above research programmes will be done on the basis of entrance examination (50%), qualifying degree (20%) marks and interview (30%).
  • However, candidates who have already qualified for CSIR/UGC-JRF/NET, SLET/SET, ICAR/ICMR, awardees of Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF), Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF), National Fellowship for OBC, Basic Science Research Fellowship, Inspire Fellowship, National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) Fellowship or similar National Fellowships are exempted from entrance test and will be selected solely on the basis of interview.
  • The candidates for admission with the M.Phil. Degree in the same programme are also not required to appear in the written test for the Ph.D. Programme.

  • M.Phil. students will be paid fellowship @ Rs.5000/- per month for a period of one year.
